@MN5 used to really enjoy a good witbier say 10+ years ago when they were popular but you're right, not many of them around these days.
Haven't even thought of brewing one myself as I've been focusing on both NEIPA/Hazies and West Coast IPAs for the most part with the odd Belgian thrown into the mix.
Will definitely put that on my "to brew" list.
Yeah my “to brew” list is getting long. I plan on stocking up in the next week or so and going hard out over the break. I’ll be doing the Stout above but also keen on a Red Ale, Porter, Hazy ( lots of requests for it ) more Pink Grapefruit IPA ( possibly my favourite of the ones I’ve brewed so far and Pilsner.
Not sure if we’ll bother with Saison, it’s not that popular ( more for me though ! ) and needs to be brewed at a higher temp which might be a pain.

Anyone had any success/experience in brewing low alcohol beers? Any low sugar recipes or kits available? Need some for Christmas and New Year visitors.

Just add half the mix.
( not sure why you’d bother to be honest )

Wouldn't that water down the flavour?

Not all people are piss-heads and/or Fern members....

I've drunk a bunch and brewed some.
No alcohol beers are at best average. I'd describe them as a cousin to beer... They're similar, but quite different. You wind up with hops, but to get any sort of mouth feel without alcohol some form of unfermented sugars are present. Basically it tastes like pre fermentation wort. It's not bad, can be refreshing, but struggles to be beer
Strong preference to brew low alcohol beers. Table beers or an English bitter type are good. I can dig up a table beer recipe I really rate if you like.
As to why bother, it's great for lunch, post exercise, or just if don't want to get drunk.
Good luck

That's what I'm after so that'd be great.
TBH, I'm not a huge beer connoisseur to judge alcohol levels and taste. It's more for some health conscious people we're hosting over Christmas & New Year and it'd be nice to serve them some home brew.
That said, I'm finding some of the 1-2% beers really good (there's a couple of Adnam's low strengths beers I really like)

A mate of mine has given up drinking and brought round some Bach brewing non alcoholic beer. Tasted surprisingly awesome I must say given how awful most 0% beer is.
I offered to brew some 0% but then realised how time consuming and costly it is ( apparently you have to brew it as per normal then run it through some filter system to remove the alcohol ? Fuck that ) so had to respectfully withdraw my offer.

There are some seriously good low alcohol beers about (as opposed to zero alcohol). You can go out and have 3-4 pints and still be OK to drive

From what I've read, 0% really isn't viable.

Yeah you do need to be careful to check the alcohol % when out for a couple of cheekies ESPECIALLY at this time of year, loads more checkpoints around.

Can’t upload an image for some reason…..
But over a six week window I’m brewing….
Mangrove Jack American IPA, Red IPA and Hazy IPA…..
Followed but Black Rock IPA and finally Black Rock Stout.
By mid to late December I’m going to have more awesome beer than I’ll know what to do with.

RIP MN5 Liver
I’m making beer, not spirits. I’ll be ok

100L of beer. I'll be fine, until I"m not
seriously, good brew calendar. Have fun! I smashed out a 75L pilsner last weekend, which was enjoyable to brew. Passing it all on to mates for Christmas beersies... happy summer

Yeah with a few social functions coming up a shitload of it will go.
I find I can’t do too many in one go these days anyway, gives me a bit of a headache.

for me, it's not sleeping and then turning into fat bastard that's a bigger issue.
I think a few beers is fine if the rest of the lifestyle is in order.
But homebrew can be pretty fattening, yes.
