As I said above, I listened on the radio, but it sounded like they came out with a plan to basically avoid contact with NZ and simply starve them of possession rather than all out attack which is their natural game.

Looks like the days of 'do shuttle runs until someone dry-retches' have long since been surpassed...

Recorded the NZ vs GB game and watched that this morning. That first half was a total disgrace. Reiko didn't even try to tackle in a couple of GB tries. There was no sense of urgency and even when we came back in the second half and got over the try line there seemed little interest in at least trying to get under the post to improve conversion chances. For our last try why didn't Kaka just rush the kick we still needed a try to win anyway just so many valuable seconds wasted. Also why with 20 seconds on the clock did we kick it long? Surely we should have at least tried to get possession back? We were slow and predictable and it just seemed like we didn't care.

Well this is abysmal. No sense of urgency or commitment and just taking the exact wrong option every time. I can't blame titch for this. R Ioane is a waste, constantly looking for contact, not what you're there for dummy.

Interesting that when playing for the Blues in 15s he was able to exploit the limited space very effectively. But when playing in the 7s he goes looking for contact. I smell a shitty game plan. In fact I don't just smell it, I see it on the field and in Titch's interviews when all he talks about is "winning the contact".

Bundled out in the quarter finals? Keep the coach for the next four years and win the next two Olympics!

The whole 'don't sack the coach because it didn't work last time' only works when you've got the right coach. I don't think Grizz would have won in 95, Hart in 03, or Mitch in 07 for starters...

While it is disappointing it is only 7s and I wouldn't want to see Super rugby or god forbid the All Blacks sacrificed for it so not sure how much of a rethink can be had other than a new coach and allowing our superstars to jet in when they have a window.

I'd go the opposite route and have a sevens programme that is completely separate from the ABs and Super rugby to avoid the issues with player availability that have occurred this year. Set-up a central base for fulltime training for the players and pay them accordingly rather than the piecemeal system used at present. Sevens won't attract the best rugby players in NZ but should be able to find enough young athletes across all codes who can become specialists.

Most importantly, have a complete re-think on the type of players you need (i.e., speed and guile over size) and the tactics employed.

That's it in a nutshell , we can sugarcoat this as much as we like ,

But from a proud rugby nation , 1 win from 4 games is not acceptable
