Not quite, as he has never played in Pakistan.

Important here for Nicholls to score. Couldn't ask for a better situation to come in to.

Pretty sure KSW sacrificed himself as captain to give Nichols and Santner a bat.

WTF was that from Nicholls. Horrible shot where the sweep was never on. The guy plays far too loosely to be considered test standard.

Geez AM, I don't think I've ever seen a ferner have an about face like that.

I must say though, something of a micro collapse which is disappointing.

It would be nice if he could succeed but tbh, he's all over the place at this level. He has massive holes defensively and his shot selection is very poor as was seen with him driving very loosely early on and then playing a horrendous sweep shot to a ball that was nowhere near full enough to sweep.

Hesson will give him plenty of chances which is fine, but I can't see him succeeding in the test arena at this stage of his career.

Taylor's passed Crowe's test runs total. NZ's very, very lucky to have two of our all time greats playing at the same time. Crowe would've been very proud.

A very nice morning session for us in terms of milestones. Kane a century against everyone, Taylor surpassing Crowe in runs scored.

Can't imagine they'll bat for much longer, Taylor has 50, Watling on next to nothing, so no quick achievements in sight. I want to see our quicks rip through their openers again.

I'd like to see us bat them into the ground, get a big big score then try to roll them twice in a row

He should get in ahead of Virat Kohli. Kohli has only be averaging slightly less than 50 in the last few years.

Yeah, Kohli is a freak in the shorter forms but his test record is only "very good" as opposed to "worlds best".

We're racing towards 600. Power on and put them in once we surpass 600-650, sometime in the final session

Just read on cricinfo that we've only lost 10 wickets the entire series. Seems like we could get to a thousand in this innings if we wanted to be unsportsmanlike.

Probably could have done it within 20 minutes of resuming play. It's not like they're gonna have to bat again this game.
