An article about SBHS, but also their pathway via the Highlanders.
Their no.8 was mentioned earlier. He's only recently moved from the backs into the forwards.

The thing with Rutledge and the young 8, Shaw is the number of openside flankers and loosies in the Highlanders region. Hayden Michaels, Sean Withy, Oli Haig, Will Stodart and Nikora Broughton. All under 22 and under. Then you have the young Holland coming through as a lock/flanker too. So plenty of options. I just hope we keep the right ones. The young winger who is off on a missions seems like a good prospect. Hopefully he comes back!

Coaches for the week are drawn from throughout the Highlanders region including Scott Eade (Southland), Josh Phipps (North Otago) and Regan Turoa (Otago) and will be supported by a strength and conditioning trainer, nutritionist, mental skills trainer and analysts. The 5-day camp culminates with an internal game where the on-field skills and learnings from the camp will be able to be applied in a game setting.

Players simply choose to migrate to the place with the best culture for young people.

@frugby Usually you get a few 1st XV players who have committed to play elsewhere in these teams. The Blues, Hurricanes and Crusaders U18s do have such players, but the Chiefs and Highlanders do not.
I'm sure timing plays a part with these things, as well as the fact different teams have different systems. Think the Highlanders programme is really just designed to expose as many local players as possible (within reason) to a higher quality end-of-season camp.
I don't believe it really directly links much towards the Highlanders, other than the fact the pathways guy Kane Jury heads it, but he is away in Aussie at the moment.

Are all the players in the national squads named in Super schools sides?

I would assume so.
The SR development squads are U18 so not just restricted to those at school. If you look at the lists some have a club attached to their name.
