Awkward , have you come up with a convincing explanation yet?

There was a guy who used to fish locally and when he anchored up and put his burley down he put the chicken dance on a loop on the stereo on his boat . Never had to worry about anyone parking to close and ruining his fishing . -

This came on youtube after a D.O.C song I was listening to. Had literally never heard of this song until now. MC Ren, Eazy E, Dr Dre, Digital Underground, Ice T, Tone Loc and other West Coast rappers. The thing I really dig about this track and N.W.A tracks of the same era is the funky bass line.

This weeks prime rocks is glen Campbell , he's worked with some greats over the years but Alzheimers is slowly taking hold of him. Should be worth watching.

That would definitely make it tough to spend time searching in the sun for another overload......
-

again, it's not new, but I'm digging drum and bass outfit Rudimental's stuff at the moment. Their videos are pretty dramatic (i love this video)

I think, rather depressingly, we're at an age where it's gonna be fucken hard work discovering something genuinely "new" that we really like.

In an effort to try and make this easier I've taken to listening to a lot of Active and George FM for a few undiscovered gems cos listening to ACDC, Metallica and the Foos on rotation on the Rock get's boring after awhile and The Sound which could easily be renamed Pink Floyd FM get's monotonous as well.
-

This is the jam. Incredible that as amazing as this song is it was William DeVaughn's only hit. You'd think there was plenty more where this comes from:

This may be the worst record of all time. Michael Bolton, back when he was Michael Bolotin, covers Time is on my side.
I grew up singing along to Ian Dury in the backseat of dads car.

Knew the words to "sex and drugs and rock and roll" before I knew what sex and drugs were :)

One of the funkiest white dudes ever.
-

Great work nonpartisan, a couple of gems there.....however I'll see your version of that song and raise you this one, Don't get me wrong, yours is awesome, but this is FAR superior IMHO.....

There's any number of amazing soul brothers like that who for whatever reason only had the one hit.....I think Motown politics was the reason for this.

But why this guys isn't mentioned alongside Marvin Gaye and Al Green is a mystery to me.
-

Fucken hell SammyC, another thing we have in common from our youths....I also sang along to Ian Dury when my old man played it on car trips. To this day I could probably sing the entire "Lord Upminster" album if someone played if even though I haven't heard it since the late 80s !
