@KiwiPie Saka is becoming very predictable. They know he's going to cut the ball back onto his left foot. And without White being able to overlap or add to numbers it becomes a 4v2. Same on Martenelli's side except he is more prepared to take it to the byline. That's why Partey at right back doesn't work. Too much inversion.

I’m restrained because it’s almost funny. We have had two soft reds this season and I just know if Harry Wilson had pulled Diaz back rather than vice versa we would undoubtedly have received a third
It would have been interesting to see how city would have gone down to ten for 70 minutes
We played quite well in the first half despite having to play an 18 yr old in midfield. Not saying we would have got anything from the game at all but 5-1 didnt accurately reflect the game.
Second half was very ordinary but who can blame the players for coming out deflated. We were shit against Brentford. Not so bad at the Etihad.
Still think there are at least four teams worse than Fulham. This year. Resigned to losing Palhinha and Silva though

Dogmeat or Kiwipie do you have any knowledge about the contract Palhinha has signed for the next 4 years. Surely it is just to try and extract more when they come bidding in January.
Fulham should be ok this year I say optimistically just a few hours before playing Luxons. Surely not ??? -
It's exactly what Caicedo did so chances are Palhinha is off in January. Let's face it he deserves to be on a bigger stage than that offered by Fulham. Although I hope that we get a full season out of him and thus have more time to build the squad. The interesting thing from the reports I have read is that the new contract has no buy out clause. Unlike Caicedo
I also think we will be safe. After all it's pretty much the same squad as last year minus Mitro and Mitro missed 10 games. Having said that Leicester and others have illustrated the danger of standing still while the rest progress.
We were pretty fucking poor against Luton, but surely there are 3 sides worse than Fulham. Still, I thought that last time we were relegated too. I think it's going to be an anxious season for Fulham fans.
Summers going to be tough. Relacing Palhinha, Mitro, Silva, Tete, Willian. Who else?

@dogmeat Won't Ream be pensioned off soon? I'd be worried about some of the mediocre signings such as Iwobi who can look good but not sure he delivers often enough. Should be safe this season as all of the promoted clubs look like struggling to get many wins.

Ream wants to play at his home WC in three years' time.
I'm surprised he has managed to last this long but he hasn't got that many miles in his legs, never relied on his (non-existent) speed and like a cunning flanker seems to be able to read ahead and get into the right space.
We have CD cover so not as bothered about that has holding midfield and striker.
You are right about the signings though. Whilst Mitro is the only real loss, the signings have only added depth not quality.
Silva values Premiership experience but as you point out our age profile is not good. I hope Stansfield tears it up in the Championship and next year solves two issues for us.
We have had a very good academy for a long time, but our league position has never really allowed us to ease them into the team. Hoping that changes soon.

Big Ange's Spurs get a meritorious 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates. It was an exciting encounter, Spurs seem unphased about trying to play out from the back, which made for some dicey moments at times. But their attack is very attractive to watch, and they have a high energy press, a big step up from last year

@canefan They looked good but gifted a goal by Jorginho whom Arsenal should have replaced in the off season. Saka was lazy on Son's goal.
Disappointing as an Arsenal fan and Arteta is losing my support. WTF on Havertz. Surely there was a midfielder, by trade, out there that actually plays the position. What was he thinking? ESR on for 4 minutes and Saka kicked to shit then is not able to train? Lets run him into the ground. Can Arteta and the Brazilian not spot talent? I said we need another dominant midfielder. Someone that can attack centrally as everything we do is down the wings and everyone has figured that out. 2 go down (our most physical) and we have Jorginho and Viera. Thats enough to scare no one.

Disappointed there is no Spurs-Liverpool content on this thread. For a neutral, the ending was hilarious as it would have been had Liverpool scored with 9 players in the 96th minute. Spurs had no clue how to break down a 9 man team, playing way too narrow with both wide players not starting wide and then cutting in on their stronger foot. Finally they get a right footer on the right to ping one into the box and Matip with the excellent finish.

Howard Webb must be clocking up the miles driving around the country to deliver yet another apology. Twice to the Cottage in only six games?
Being accountable is all well and good, but maybe they should focus on getting it right in the first place.
