This game is part of a triple header:

The Bunnings NPC match between Canterbury and Ta$man will see the Lionel Hunter trophy go on the line with hosts Canterbury the current holders. Neighbors Mid and South Canterbury do battle in the earlier match of the day, kicking off at 2:05pm, before Buller and West Coast go head-to-head at 7:05pm rounding out the first ever Bunnings NPC and Heartland Championship triple header.

Cantabs up 3-0 after 7mins. Ta$man have been under a bit of pressure early

Solomon Alaimalo with his 5th province

Is that the record? Pleasants-Tate Also played for 5 provinces

    @Bovidae

Yeah 7 teams.. Nelson becoming part of Ta$man helped

5 of the current 14 teams seems to be a record

That Chay Fihaki guy is bloody hopeless. How does he keep his spot?

Mataele running a great line there, straight through a hole in the Ta$man defence. Awesome try.

@taniwharugby Was it Alaimalo (so not Mataele)? Don't know how I confused them.

Edit: ah, my stream is way behind. This try was Alaimalo's.

@taniwharugby So Alaimalo scored two tries? The radio commentators are regularly confusing players, and that is confusing me! 😖

@Stargazer no...was just a nice angled run at pace.

Gotta say Aumua has been average this year, his trick hasnt really been upto much.

Awful end to the half culminating by Canterbury conceding a pen right in front of the posts

Totally dysfunctional lineout. One mistake Eddie didn't make is picking Kaitu'u - but, his coaches and callers haven't helped him.

    What a fucking shambles.

Last five minutes have us closer than we deserve to be.

@Chris-B Reckon that is kind to Kaitu'u. Throws were just straight awful most of the time.

@frugby Don't know why they were doing all the dancing about. Just throw the ball to PPP at 2.
