Does Blackadder Jesus's naming in this squad mean he's less of a chance of boarding a flight to France?

@Nepia I don't think so. If it's him (and that's a big IF), I think they'd want him to have another game under his belt.

The next AB's game is against Namibia. They can hand the 6 jersey to about everyone in the squad, including a player who has just come off the plane.

Tuipulotu is missing from the Auckland 23 this weekend. Haven't heard anything about an injury.

    Changes to the Ta$man line-up:
    6 - Max Hicks
    8 - Hugh Renton
    20 - Angus Fletcher

Hames better be a great referee himself for all the criticism he fires at refs in his commentary.

Why do Ta$man opt for a penalty kick, when Taranaki just had a prop sent off? Wouldn't a scrum or line-out maul make better use of that sent-off?

Dumb from Potroz not to just kick the ball out himself.

Segner was really good in this game. Taranaki made too many handling errors while on attack.

Haha yes... though I find Mabey to be a fairly poor ref. Like Pickerill, can't do the scrum, and his games never really seem to flow.

Good I thought. Another one for the Chiefs to get their grubby mitts on.

He was the reason I watched the game. Sa played about 55 mins. He is a huge unit, and I've seen him up close playing club rugby, but still needs to make the most of his size around the field. Sa would be the next lock selected if the Chiefs need another one in their 2024 squad.

we have lost two so would imagine we will want to sign one.

I agree. Sa can be developed without the need to play him regularly.

Just got home from game, frutrsted a bit, Potroz seems to have a brain fade each game, the tap and pass that Segner charged down was almost beyond belief.
@Bovidae I go along with you about Segner, though I been on his wagon for a few years since I first saw him playing for NZ schoolboys. I quite liked what I saw os Sa, he was reasonably quiet, but not bad, first I have seen (or heard) of him. All in all a bit frutrating as Naki man, but another bloody good day at the rugby!

    @frugby

He has a younger brother Jayden just as big in the Canterbury u/19 squad this year.

On Fiti Sa, I mentioned after the SR U20 tournament that he was one of the locks I would select for the NZ U20s because he has size. Unfortunately like a few other players he got injured at the wrong time.

I'll be interested to see how tall the locks are in the NZ Schools team as they'll be U20 players soon enough. Aisake Vakasiuola from TBC looks huge.
