unbunch your panties, he has done no such thing.

The ABs are loved overseas about as much as the New England Patriots are outside of Boston. Respected? yes. Loved? no, not even a little bit.

Sorry. I just think you’re wrong.

I have had loads of conversations over the years with Irish/French/English/Saffa/Scots/Welsh (okay, Aussies not so much) fans who describe the ABs as their second team. ‘If we don’t win we’d like it to be you.’

I suspect France and South Africa are in that place now.

@sparky very disingenuous from Goldie ,that victory from the Springboks was very impressive and even if you were the most ardent All Black supporter you would have to be seriously concerned about the way the Boks systematically choked the life out of the All Blacks.
The first 20 minutes of constant pressure whilst not reaping many points dictated not just the pace of the game but firmly put the official on the Boks side especially with the constant infractions.

I suspect the confidence levels in the All Blacks camp has taken a massive hit after this loss .
All these players that backed Foster , will now need to stand up big time come quarter final time assuming we get past France and Italy

@sparky Oh please. You don’t think there are arrogant pundits on South African, English and Australian sports shows? Get a grip.

There are. But it ain’t sensible to lower to their level.

The respect the All Blacks have built internationally over years is for being classy (speaking humbly in interviews, respecting opponents, signing lots of autographs with kids etc.).

Don't forget sweeping out the sheds!

Who cares if they’re ‘loved’ or not. Do you think the Australian cricket team are ‘loved’? The point is to win. Fairly, honourably, in good spirit. But to win.

no it's not. it's for winning. a lot.

There are plenty of sporting sides that have won more titles like the Aussie League team or the Aussie Cricket team or the New England Patriots under Brady.

The All Blacks used to win but they weren’t at all cocky about it.

Jeff Wilson has done huge damage to the NZ Rugby brand. He should leave the arrogant shit and disrespecting opponents to the guys like Phil Kearns.

Wilson was when he scored tries. He carried on like a real pillock compared to Jonah and Cully both of whom were generally satisfied with a slight raise of the eyebrow when they scored ( usually better tries than he did )

Ideally you want to be loved and feared. But if you have to choose one, it’s better to be feared.

@sparky from SA's Keohane, am sure, like Goldie, he speaks for the current boks and thier fans.

The Springboks will hammer France in the World Cup final to retain their status as world champions, writes MARK KEOHANE.

The defending world champions completed their preparations for the World Cup with a record-breaking 35-7 victory over New Zealand at a sold-out Twickenham.

It was the All Blacks’ biggest-ever loss and came just a few weeks after Ian Foster’s side battled to beat Eddie Jones’ struggling Wallabies by two points in the second Bledisloe Cup Test.

Meanwhile, England suffered a first-ever defeat to Fiji at home, Ireland were pushed to the limit in a narrow win against Samoa, and France produced a second-half show after a sluggish first half to comfortably beat Australia.

Making his World Cup predictions on his blog Keo.co.za in the wake of the warm-up matches, Keohane wrote on that South Africa and France will contest the final, with the Boks coming out on top to retain the Webb Ellis Cup.

“Realistically, there are four teams who will compete to win this World Cup: Ireland, France, South Africa and New Zealand. Outside of the Boks, I don’t see anyone stopping France.

“I thought, maybe the All Blacks but the Boks, at Twickenham, provided the necessary evidence that the All Blacks get 10 points in every match on historical – and deserved – hype but the current imposters give up 15 points by way of introduction.

“Such is the acceptance of New Zealanders, they actually found positives in their worst loss in history. How is that the mindset of champions? It is one of knowing your team is going nowhere.

“Ireland, after the Boks have dealt with them in the Group stages, will be dealt with by France. Which leaves just the hosts and the defending champions to contest the final.

“My winner and score, which must be revisited on 28 October, is for the Boks to complete the most amazing World Cup double and win successive World Cup finals with 20-point differentials.”

I gotta agree with this bit, positives from a spanking in the sign of a bullshit team

Izzy Dagg on the RWC special: ‘’NZ Rugby should throw the kitchen sink at Shannon Frizell because he is a player for the future’’

    30 seconds later

‘Izzy, are you saying they should buy him out of his Japanese deal?’

Proof positive that a fancy private boarding school education isn't always the best.

On this topic, what is the Aussie show doing still persisting with SBW? I watched Matt Roger’s on the Aussie at home WC show and I was actually stunned at how good he was, probably the best I’ve seen on one of these types of shows, outstanding analysis.

@Stag I reckon SBW is a good one to have for interviews (with a producer in his ear) as players will open up to him, but commentary or punditry not really his bag.

Absolute comedy in the latest edition of The Breakdown.

A discussion about whether Antonie Dupont is the Greatest Of All Time (one many experts of the game are having) turned into a discussion about whether Richie Mo'unga is the Greatest of All Time. 🤦‍♂️
