Black Caps Tour to Zimbabwe

Where the suggestions that Taylor will bat at 5 coming from?

-

Haven't talked cricket for ages so will try and engage the brain and carry on from the last convos......

Is there room for Anderson AND the Neesh if both are fit ? part of me suspects not.

Keen to see Sodhi get an extended run, Santner is obviously there to turn the arm over too and easy to forget that our new captain is more than handy at this too.

Southee gets in on reputation it seems, time to find some form again son.

Bracewell to get a run of low scores but every now and again break out a semi decent score and commentators to rave about his batting ability.

I miss BMac.
-

Quite correct JK, I've only heard of one of their players but still a wee bit excited about this.....
-

You're probably getting mixed up with Hamilton, New Zealand mate....
-

Hamilton Masakadza

Craig Ervine

Sean Williams

Graeme Cremer... rings a bell, but not entirely sure...
-

Yes, he will be at 4 as Chris B suggested, I think there was only one suggestion in this thread that there would be Taylor batting at 5.

2 Actually.

Cric Info said it and JK also listed him at 5 in his team selection. based on that I was wondering if their had been some discussion about this from the team.
-

I 'know' 7, at least 7 of them have played NZ before.

-

Brian Chari, Prince Masvaure, Peter Moor, Donald Tiripano/Michael Chinouya, and Njabulo Ncube are names that are new to me

Nah I jut copied it and tweaked the bowling as was referring to pitch conditions. Hadnt thought about the batsmen too much other than the guys being there just being there. I wouldnt pay too much attention to the batting order of the bowlers I listed either!
-

Pretty much unbackable at the TAB. Was about $1.12 or something when I looked last
-

Seeing No Quarter has mentioned Joe Root now averaging 56 in Tests ...

Kane Williamson's current Test average = 49.23

To have an average of 50 after this Test Kane needs:

63 runs not dismissed

113 runs once out

163 runs twice out
-

The quote on cricinfo is:

Playing their first Test since McCullum's retirement, New Zealand will be led by Kane Williamson for the first time. Henry Nicholls will fill in at No.4, and is surrounded by a strong line-up. With several spin options in their squad, New Zealand could opt for two spinners and two quicks with Doug Bracewell as their all-round option.

I think the person writing that thinks BMac batted at 4 so got mixed up about Nicholls spot. Makes no sense to drop Taylor down when 4 is where he's had all of his success.
-

Wouldn't be a cricket thread without this discussion. What does Taylor need to do the same ?
