I hope this doesn't mean they "share" the banner.
I think that the holder retains the banner but does not embroider the year under their name on it as it was not actually a win and only the years you win are recorded. I might have my interpretation wrong on that though.
FIngers are now double crossed for @Nepia s outfit to tip Hamilton over up there. Surely he will do his best to encourage that as Napier are a HB team and what's that old saying "me against my brother, me and my brother against our cousin"? Well now is the time to envoke that spirit! -
FT: Palmerston North Boys' 12 - 12 Napier Boys
It was a clear game of two halves, with Napier dominating the first half and Palmy the second.
Not sure whether the teams share the Banner, but Napier at least shouldn't lose it.Napier Boys will still make the Super 8 final, but - unless Hastings Boys can miraculously get away with a win in Hamilton - it will be a final in Hamilton.

The kick doesn't go far. Napier back in possession.
Little knock on. Palmy get the ball back.
I'm happy to consider Ahuriri as a suburb of the Heretaunga super city.
Edit: Whoops, quoted the wrong post, was supposed to be @Higgins one.

@Nepia For Hastings there's a huge carrot to win in Hamilton: the Moascar Cup!
Oh damn, that changes it then. Go hard boys.

@Higgins You'll be pleased to read that Napier Boys' did indeed retain the Polson Banner after that draw!
From their FB:
Napier Boys' High 1st XV retain the Polson Banner in the mud at Palmerston North.
After securing an early 12 -0 lead. Napier dominated possession and territory for large parts of the game. PNBHS showed real character to stay in the battle and secure a 12 all draw scoring a try and kicking the conversion in the last play of the game.
As current holders Napier retain the 'Banner' for another year. Thank you to Palmerston North for hosting us. Another chapter in the proud traditions between the two schools of the 'Polson' has been written.
NBHS 1st XV 12 (Tries: George Prouting, Richie Magele. Conversion: Luke Thomas)
PNBHS 1st XV (Tries: Tom Illston-Park, Richie Schaaf. Conversion: Jamie Viljoen)
The draw sees Napier Boys' qualify for the Super 8 Final against Hamilton with the venue to be determined by the result in the Hastings v Hamilton game on Saturday.
