@Stargazer what's the story with reaching the knockouts?

    This is from 2019:

    Seeding for round four

At the end of the pool phase, the teams will be seeded based on the position in which they finished in their respective pools.

1st Seed – Pool winner with most competition points

2nd Seed – Pool winner with second most competition points

3rd Seed – Pool winner with third most competition points

4th Seed – Pool second place with most competition points

5th Seed – Pool second place with second most competition points

6th Seed – Pool second place with third most competition points

7th Seed – Pool third place with most competition points

8th Seed – Pool third place with second most competition points

9th Seed – Pool third place with third most competition points

10th Seed – Pool fourth place with most competition points

11th Seed – Pool fourth place with second most competition points

12th Seed – Pool fourth place with third most competition points

I don't want to sound like a fanboi, because I've only seen this kid for the first time, but Viljoen's passing game is exactly what we needed from the start. Rapid pop passes allowing our forwards to run hard and straight

NZ had the chances to really make France sweat but failed to execute when needed

Nice passage there, but another turnover ruins the buildup

I don't think NZ have missed Kemara just quietly

It could be other factors, but our reserve 9 and 10 have performed better than the starters....

I can't believe the baby boks will play on this field straight after

Good luck to S Africa and Italy, who still have to play on this field. (Assuming it's the same field at Paarl).

I don't know if the conditions are typical for this time of year. But if so, this venue as an advertisement for rugby, is not good IMHO. Unless you want to turn back the clock to the 70s

So maybe they should try Viljoen at 9 and Godrey at 10 next time?

Some good impetus from the subs, namely Viljoen and Stodart I thought. Starting front rowers actually did okay, particularly at the scrum. Lack of size at lock really hurt us.

At 21-0 after 30 odd I feared much much worse.

Not a bad effort all up.

Well, it didn't become a French 50+ blow-out, but still the expected loss.

    FT: France 35 - 14 New Zealand

Not bad, score could have been closer if we'd been a little more clinical

    Godfrey has moved to 10.

    He looked more comfortable there
