@Stargazer That's actually a useful coaching team. Let's hope some useful players are signed. Would have been good to have Craig Innes involved, unless he didn't want to be
Is Innes living in Hawkes Bay or have some association with the coaching staff?

From the article below:
At MAC, Anthony Morley continues his partnership with former All Blacks captain Taine Randell.
MAC will also have former All Black and rugby league professional Craig Innes, who now has a home in Hawke’s Bay, checking-in on the backs. -
@Billsy111 I don't think blake is coming to the bay, His Brother Mitch is playing for NOBM though.
-
So, reading this, do the Magpies get an entirely new mascot, or is somebody else going to wear the Kahu outfit? I liked Kahu. If we get a new one, I hope it's not some plastic shit like Captain Hurricane, the Turbos mascott or that Counties dude.
Sorry, I didn't know where else to post this.
-
It's looking like it might be the only new signing we get, lol.
-
@kiwimatrix Actually, this is still more in the "leaving" category.
I forgot the squad size, but if they - like last year - want to announce a name every day until the full squad is officially named (I assume approx. 1 August), then they should start next week at the latest.
-
Someone had a bit of a go at them on Facebook for no announcements and they said dropping soon.

As I mentioned in the 2023 Hawke's Bay Representative Rugby thread, there was a game between a Manawatū and a Hawke's Bay team, last Saturday. Not even the Manawatū Facebook page has any information about this game, so I've no clue whether this was a game between the respective wider training groups, or between development teams. The HBT article below suggests it was a "trial game".
Anyway, our guys won 31 to 14.
This very short snippet is from the article below:
In the men’s game, the weather stayed dry but the wind was bitterly cold from the southeast. With no players from Tararua in either team, there was just the skill of the players on show to consider.
Many of the top players are still playing overseas, so it was an opportunity for locals to shine - and shine they did. With defence strategies not well-rehearsed, there were plenty of gaps in the midfield, although the forward defence was fierce.
Hawke’s Bay took an early lead with two tries. Manawatū came back to narrow the gap to one, but Hawke’s Bay scored again to take a 19-7 lead into halftime. The game was a thriller to watch with amazing back skills in both teams, and with Hawke’s Bay ending up 31-14 winners.
Errrrrrrrr, I hate this secrecy/lack of information!
Does anyone recognise any of the players on this photo? Maybe think of players who were missing from club rugby, last Saturday?

something about the top photo seems off - it is like everyone has been photographed against a green screen and then the pitch digitally placed behind them. Look at the ref - it is like he is floating!!
-
@Stockcar86 A floating ref, that's a new one haha.
