    Anybody got one? I'm going to purchase for my commute. It's roughly 3k to train station, then 2k train station to work at other end. So I need 10km capacity.

    Also need something that can take weight up to 100kg. I'm around 87kg *(hopefully lighter by marathon) but with clothes/bag, then I'll be around 95 kg.

    All tips appreciated!

    I am a tit.

    I took a scooter on the train once, and it was an absolute arse. And that wasn't an electric - just a push scooter (was trying it to see if the time saving was worthwhile).

    The bigger scooters are getting like-like ...you could consider a folding bike that just works, doesn't use batteries, and can go on trans/busses. Bromptons are the gold standard, beware of cheaper versions with shitty folding mechanisms

    yip, bought a ninebot e22 from JB Hi Fi last year (big sale, $599) when things started to open up and the thought of 40°c days and packed trams with your face in someone's armpit put me off

    I'm similar, 3.5km trip to work, 80% of it on a shared user path running next to a tram, best decision ive made, 12min to get home, it folds up and goes under my desk, i could charge it there if i wanted

    this is obviously a stock photo and not me but this is what i have and i just stand it on its end when on a train, no worries

    @Kiwiwomble cheers. Reliable?

    Do you find you need suspension or it’s ok?

    @MajorRage i dont have suspension, couple of road crossing get bumpy but most of the ride is nice wide path so all good

    i find it reliable, my biggest issue is i cant QUITE get two round trips, battery starts to die about 150m from home on the second trip so i charge it every trip

    mine capped at 20k/hr and sometimes i feel i could go slightly faster but generally ok

    i guess the final evaluation is if it died i WOULD replace it, maybe with a better one although not much bigger as i still want to stick it under the desk

    @Kiwiwomble Do you have to ride with protective equipment in Vic? There's heaps of accidents and increasing head injuries here with people riding them. I've started to see people wearing what look like motocross helmets.

    @antipodean i think so, but just bike level stuff, i got a commuter helmet as felt a more silly wearing a proper bike one in my work clothes, has a light build in on the back

    they have to be capped at 20km/h in vic to be legal, which is slower than most bikes i come across on the path, that and you're ability to bail easier than a bike , IMO, makes me think you shouldn't need more than you'd wear on a bike

    I admit ive ridden the rental ones without a helmet...communal helmets just fells wrong
