perofeta?......our 10's are light on experience, whats his contract status @Duluth ?
if it is true its probably Tuipulotu or something
Perofeta is signed for 2024
If the info is only 'an All Black' my guess is Hodgman

Tuipulotu
Signed until end of 2024 or 2025.
Akira Ioane hadn't re-signed as of a week or two ago, according to the NZ Herald. Seems unlikely. Perhaps he wants to play 8?
Laulala going to France, IIRC?
Don't see much point to move there for Hodgman.
Other options could be Christie or Perofeta.
Tu'ungufasi wants to play tighthead?

@Duluth don't need props.
Sure. But he seemed to be on the outer before his injury and might be looking for other options
-
Backs are the focus. Forwards don't add much value. Except may be a hooker.
-
Fakatava, Perofeta, Evans inside back combo?

maybe, at 29 he might just be trying to secure a gig for a few years, i know thats just coming into a props prime time but if he just wants some security and to play with other top props
AI would be interesting, we believe a few of our experience loosies are off...but once again, we seem to be looking at youth so anyone coming in can be looking for 80 min every week

Perfoeta is contracted next year. Barrett won't be playing so I can't imagine them releasing him.
Not an AB but I assumed the Highlanders would be chasing Plummer as he is off contract

id take it
@Duluth we have millar and Faleafaga we obviously see as the future at 10, not sure we'd bring someone else in that young enough to expect lots of game time
perofeta would be a step above but plummer is another super level players is he not?
-
I'd take Plummer. More than 50 games. Quality player.
-
@SouthernMann do you think they would do that and derail the plan for 10 a bit?
-
Have we seen enough from either to say they can run the cutter next year?
-
@SouthernMann More of a 12, IIRC. Has played some rugby at 10.
-
@SouthernMann i havent but i felt the Highlanders management had signaled that was the long term plan
I'm just nervous, we had Hunt, ioane and Gatland all fighting for a spot at the same time...seems like all we did was piss off two of them and break the 3rd, if it was me a clear first choice, an up and coming understudy and maybe an experienced (lima?) old hat that just wants to play a bit of code and pick up some slack
unless some how we could lure someone like perofeta, that would be worth re thinking the plan
-
I want one of those two to succeed long term. I just don't know if it starts from next year. Millar has played what two games and Faleafaga still hasn't laced up at NPC level. It is a big if for both of them
