Same old Russians, always cheating

Not really the right thread ofr this, but since it is about Olympic cheating, I'll post it here.

Looks like the Japanese were paying for votes to get the 2020 Olympics. Who's surprised?

It was like watching the stages of grief:
 
1. Denial. She was like "no way, Japan wouldn't do that, we're honest"
 
2. Anger. After reading the article "you're fucking kidding me?, how can they be that stupid?"
 
3. Bargaining. After thinking for 5 minutes "well, probably everyone does it, so it's probably a good strategy to get the games, and only cost a million pounds"
 
4. Depression. Two minutes later: "Olympics are fucking stupid anyway"
 
5. Acceptance. 3 seconds later, "Anyway, it'll help our property values"
 
Seriously though, I realllly hope this kicks off. Not being discussed much here by local media that I've seen.

Basically Kenya anti-doping is noncompliant (read, nonexistent). IAAF: Yeah, we hear ya WADA, but fark, they'll be fine.
 
IOC: You kids stop arguing. We'll just let Kenya come along this year mkay?
 
 
The lesson kids - if you are going to go widespread on your doping (probably Jamaica and Kenya and Russia), make sure you win so excluding you is not in the best interest of the organising committees. FML. I don't think I'm going to bother watching the olympics this year

Everybody's known about the Kenya situation for ages, I mentioned it earlier in the thread and was told that it was a non issue. 
Apparently kiwi rugby players are just as likely to be dodgy... And Kenya and Jamaica are only mentioned because they are "third world"

This would never happen in NZ, we would never accept it as a people.
 
I don't know enough about Russian mentality, but I infer that "the end justifies the means" is a Russian national characteristic?
 
My enthusiasm for the Olympics is at an all-time low, doubt I'll watch too much, but I hope no Russian athlete sets foot in Rio.
 
I'll make an exception for the hot high-jump chick competing as an independent.

Countries I wouldn't trust at all if they win a medal
 
1) China
2) Anything from the old eastern bloc, especially the Russian satellite states
3) Ethiopia
4) Kenya
5) Cuba
6) Turkey
 
You can count on 1 hand the number of NZ athletes done for drug cheating over the years: there was that ?weightlifter, and I think a cyclist or too.
 
It will be a complete joke if Russian are allowed to compete.

I've got to the point where I just don't think you can know. Lance got away wtih it for years - despite being the most tested person on the planet. US olympic athletes dope like crazy (Marion Jones, her husband). The reality is we can't know who is clean and who is not.
 
My interest in the Olympics is at an all time low. I just don't think I can be bothered.

Super dodgy understates it. According to a program I watched on ABC about the Russia doping scandal, Jamaica did no out of competition testing for the six months leading up to London Olympics.
 
And they won all the sprinting medals...
