Coxon has played a few games for Burnside this year.
The new prop has definitely played in nz before. Just not for awhile. Don’t think TW is playing tomorrow. So he’ll be straight in.
I wonder what happens if they legitimately have no props for the playoffs. -
Here's the rules for 2021, which probably haven't changed much - Section 3.18 is the relevant one.

@chchfanatic I'm sure Ben May would be happy to make an appearance.

@SBW1 I feel the same about this as I did about Charles Piutau leaving, I'd rather players that are committed to the All Blacks stick around.
It's self selection for passion in the professional era. Compare those decisions to someone like Rieko Ioane, who could earn huge amounts overseas but his focus is on more than just cash.
Makes the All Blacks better.

Ryan Coxon was a tighthead for the U20 team - not sure if that was because it was his main position at the time (and they tried to switch him afterwards), or if he was simply selected there as we first had Tim Farrell and then Ezekiel Lindenmuth at loosehead who were looking good.
I think I remember reading Harry Allan's name in a wider Canterbury training squad earlier this week - interesting that they don't seem to have called him in.

I don't know if he was ever a first choice All Black. His sendoff against Ireland last year probably didn't help his cause. Razor initially talked about him early on as a centre, he has lived up to his hype at the Saders. Aumua will be a big plus for us.
Don't know what happened in Japan either but maybe he thinks his future is better forged elsewhere.
