@Kirwan smoke/fire?
We can only judge what we see and that instantly appeared to be RI “rubbing in” a victory unnecessarily.
Maybe it wasn’t, but it certainly looked that way and what happened straight after backs that up.
Just wasn’t classy. -

He should have been embarrassed that a game between a top of the table team and the wooden spooners was so close.
The perfect time to show some humility and class
Geez I not sure if some of you fellas on here can't remember at times in games and getting frutrated as f*** because everything turns to shit? I know you shouldn't do it , but sometimes if you get into that situation, and perhaps had maybe heard a verbal or something you do say something not really called for, it's actually called being human and we can regret it quietly later.
Actually one of best I heard was after a club game years back, team I managed had lost right in full time. The opposing captain in our clubrooms making his aftermatch speech, thanked our player who had told him to look at scoreboard as last scrum went down, he said "I did looked at scoreboard, saw we were down so scored the a try"!!! Even I had a chuckle and he said later to me he knew he shouldn't of said it, but after copping a bit you sometimes got to just do/say something!

Just wasn’t classy.Like I said, projection. You don't like him, so when you see him celebrate a win you see "not classy"
Anything else you two are heaping on him is just fantasy land, and a bit weird.

Who says I 'don't like him'?
I am simply commenting on something as it appeared to me and supporting other's comments that he seems to do stuff like this more than just as a 'one off'.
Accusing people of projecting, being in fantasy land or judging players through dislike is the tiresome part.
No one is suggesting that what he did should be punished or that he's a bad person or player. Just pointing out a personality trait that seems to appear occasionally and, in some eyes, isn't a great look.
If anything, certain posters here get extremely defensive about the Ioane bros to the point where any warranted criticism is shouted down with weird accusations.
You are a fan of them. Understood. I also like their playing abilities, but unlike you, will also point out their flaws. -

You, and plenty of others, have a pattern of posts that hold him, and his brother, to a different standard than other players. I don't see the same bizarre posts that these guys get for players like Brodie and Coles, who regular rub players on the head and start fights.
Getting a tiny amount of push back from a silly bias you have isn't someone being defensive either, it's just someone getting tired of your bullshit.

I have said I was commenting on how it appeared to those with both eyes open. For me it wasn't after watching again or even noticing who the player even was. When watching the game I thought 'that was a bit odd, rubbing in a last minute win with some verbals, enough to fire up a response. You can't deny that something was obviously said that triggered some push and shove. I just thought it was unwarranted and unbecoming. My opinion.

Didn't I quite clearly state that I see nothing wrong with a bit of verbals and niggle? Just that the moment needs to be right and this wasn't. It came across as gloating (and for a Blues v MP game, embarrassing).
Getting a tiny amount of push back from a silly bias you have isn't someone being defensive either, it's just someone getting tired of your bullshit.
Thanks for declaring my opinion as bullshit and the accusation of bias (again).
'Tiny amount of pushback'? How funny. You put the walls up instantly as it played out and have attacked anyone that has commented with unfounded accusations.Let's leave it there. Obviously no point making any negative comment about the Ioane's on this board.

That only happened in your mind, I just watched it and that didn't happen.
I look forward to you holding the Chiefs players to this standard the next time they celebrate a win.

Cool. Next time ALB runs in from the backline and sets off a post match squabble after a penalty try against a six forward scrum I will do just that.

just watched again as well. He runs in, congratulates Dalton then looks directly at the MP players and says something. I obviously don't know what he said but it set off what happened. Maybe it was someone else saying/doing something else but we can only comment on what it appears like which is what we have done.

Again, that's not what happened. It's what you want to have happened.
If you watch the footage with both eyes open, putting your petty bias to one side, you'll actually see hes the one de-escalating whatever happened.

Argh that was a messy old game. Dont think any Blues really covered themselves in glory and were lucky to get out of that with the W. The game was more notable and interesting for me for the players that were missing rather than the players on the field.
Think it puts into context how difficult and how much the Drua game in Lautoka took out of the players the week before, especially given how the Canes & Saders fared in Fiji.
Just want to say that Choat had an outstanding game v Drua (as did BB who went ok too, made good decisions). Choat in particular was sorely missed for this MP game. I know there are others in front of him in the pecking order, but jeez his work ethic and accuracy in the tackle is second to none. -
@Kirwan said in Blues v Moana Pasifika:
I just watched the end again, and he's laughing and trying to break things up FFS. Darry and Sullivan are in the thick whatever the fallout is, which is probably just MP players disappointment.
Such a weird take on RI a couple of posters have on this.
I have to admit Kirwan, that's what I saw, didn't actually see him giving anyone lips or anything, I may have to watch again........Na it's not that important.

To put a cap on this dumb shit:
The Blues posted an Instagram story of this shit. Papalii and some other guys were in the face of their opposites at the end. (Papalii lives with two MP players) Ioane came in and was doing the hand pantomime "talking it up" motion. That was it.
It is quite possible that there was some trash talking during the game and after. MP were putting in some hits, and scored a couple of brilliant tries.
Out of absolutely nothing, a Northland Blues hater, and a Hurricanes to Chiefs turncoat, have claimed that one of the awful Ioanes were going so over the line that it was a national disgrace.
After all this time, these guys are still talking up this normal trash talking.
Just enjoy the game, and pro athletes getting fired up.
Who else would you hold to this made up standard?

So saying 'wasn't a good look' now equates to national disgrace?
Pretty clearly stated that any comment was based on what was seen on the TV pictures at the time. If the real story is different, then fine.
TV shows Dalton's back turned to the MP players and RI saying something in their direction over DPs shoulder while congratulating him. Pretty easy to make some assumptions from that -

6 posts on the topic pretty clearly shows your karen panties are very much in a bunch about it
players getting mouthy to each other adds to the entertainment value. It's actually refreshing to see, as it shows the game means something to them at least.
And i am willing to bet good money that almost all our elite players are involved in verbals all game. It's just you notice some more than others. Verbals make the game more fun. Sometimes you win them, sometimes you lose them.
Mulitalo v Cosi the other week in the Warriors v Sharks was fucking great. They had fun. We had fun, and in the end the good guys won.
stop being a fanny

6 posts on the topic was arguing with someone accusing me of having some kind of vendetta and projecting. My OP was a pretty mild observation.
Now I am being accused of saying things that I quite clearly haven't at all.
Bloody sensitive bunch these Blues fans. -

Yes, someone doesn't like being corrected when they are wrong.

Kind of 2 things jump to mind anyway,
1 Shouldn't assume what was said etc, (to be honest I never thought anything of it until read these posts)
2 Hell even a bit of verbals is ok anyway, I mean Gregan's '4 more years" to Kelleher was even enjoyed by other ABs (admittedly because many thought Kelleher was piston wristed gibbon), but hell as my son used to say playing cricket and, if you let verbals worry you it was time to take up knitting..
