Blues 2023

Strange that the article doesn't mention Coventry? It doesn't say that he's leaving and it doesn't mention him as a possible head coach. Maybe he's ready to retire from SR?
I'm sure others will disagree but I'd take Pivac. Getting chewed up and spat out by Wales doesn't mean anything.. it puts him at the same level as Hansen
A foundation Harbour player, coached Northland, Harbour & Auckland (twice). I doubt anyone knows the region better. He also should've gotten the Blues job about 4 or 5 times previously.. so I presume he has some enemies
He just turned down Newcastle and earlier this year made noises about returning to NZ

@Stargazer I think two years might have been mentioned at the time, though am unsure. Didn't see anything last year though.
No, it didn't.

@Stargazer I was thinking that someone like @Nogusta might have mentioned it.
2022 was a draft contract I believe
Re-signed for 2023 just the 1 year.
Now weighing up offers but likely to stay in Auckland.
Wouldn't surprise though if he ended up at Chiefs.
Clayton McMillan loves him -

This article about Sullivan has a few interesting comments. Sounds like the coaching staff has done some good work
“I was battling some personal stuff off-field,” he said of his absence through the first three rounds. “It was good the coaches took away the pressure on the field and helped me off-field.” He declines to talk details, other than saying, “I had to fight through some adversity with myself, and it took stress away not having to worry about rugby too much, and being able to come in and build on myself off the field with our PD (professional development) people.”
“I’ve worked on what the coaches wanted me to do. I’ve had some pats on the back but also sometimes I needed a kick up the bum. It’s about staying on top of the things I’m good at and continuing working on my game.” And the strapping fullback knows exactly where he needs to be better. “Confidence. When I’m confident, it’s being physical with the ball, using my footwork round players and getting my long limbs out there. I’ve also got to be solid defensively and keep working on my left boot. It’s a point of difference. I’m lucky to have it, but have to keep working on it.”

Nice to see players being managed well, and players having the maturity to speak about it. Big tick for Leon here, and bodes well for the ABs.
