NRL 2023 + Internationals

@mariner4life I picked the Tigers as potential winners here, just looked like they have forgotten how to win and perhaps should have won that. As for the Dolphins, fun game unless your name is Robert Jennings obviously bet against his team
Hoping not for the slaughter, but has become a bit of a tradition of late, hoping we are not more than 10 down by half time

it was incredibly entertaining. Unless you are a Titans supporter.
Titans sort of reminded me of the Warriors, especially the Price/Wiki days, where there was a night and day difference when those two were on the field, compared to when they went off. As soon as Tino and Liu went off, the Titans middle collapsed. And then, in true Warriors-esque fashion, once shit started to go wrong, they had zero idea how to reverse it.

@mariner4life with no clear definition of what a hip drop is, no one is even sure how to fight it or prevent it. Just landing on someone's legs should not be a hip drop but I tend to agree that the NRL is just keeping it murky so they can charge depending on injury. I don't think Haas or Nuikore falls into what they were trying to prevent, but the vaguery of the rule means everyone is screwed

@mariner4life Turbo has some problems aye. He got chased down by a prop at one stage. Sad to see a wonderful athlete like him let down by his body.

bit of chat around an incident in teh tunnel about an hour after the Tigers v Manly game last night
All round good guy Josh Aloiai apparently wanted to fight Brandon Wakeham, because, if the story is believed, Brandon told the ref that what started the earlier on-field scuffle was Manly player Samuela Fainu spat in his face. That constitutes "talking shit" and therefore deserved of a punch on later.
Real fucking good christian lad that Aloiai, with a real solid moral base. Played like an absolute fluffybunny all day as well just to make him look like more of a tool
-
@mariner4life yeah saw that, surprised he didn't start the fight because he was scared of the sun coming through the rain at Campbelltown because he saw a rainbow

It must have been some sort of spot betting - there was clearly a time period where the Dolphins couldn't score and he successfully marshalled them through that while still picking up two tries.

one of the few times I enjoyed Corey Parker's commentary suggesting Jennings should be charged with a grade 3 voluntary tackle

another cracking NRL match to the point that I wish rugby was this evenly matched down under, well done St George for putting up a great fight..Manu at 6 just helps straighten the Roosters attack.
Warriors next up, something like lost 13 on the trot and haven't won in Melbourne since 2014.. and conceded over 90 points in last two ANZAC events
Hopefully 2023 Warriors show up and prove us sceptical fans wrong

The Aussies' treatment of the ANZAC game right now is excellent. I'm emotional, it feels like a big test match. Hopefully we don't get popped by too much in the game....
You mean Thunderstruck blasting over the loud speaker.
Edit: That was an abortion of an anthem (in Maori) though.

That's a different emotion 😉

She tried her best. The anthems without the crowd singing was tingling

Warriors starting hot, great kick chase and we score from the ensuing set. SJ has come to play
although a Dylan Walker ball, but great start
SJs kick, Zelezniak with the chase

how good was that, Sj sets it, but CNk tip on was awesome
