AFL 2023

@mariner4life yeah, i assumed it was something like that, just thought the free to air games would be different
-
That, skill-wise, was a very ordinary round of football. I didn't watch a lot, but what i saw was very average. Extended highlights packages aren't pretty. Look at the scores, only three teams over a hundred, two teams won with scores in teh 60s
If you are doing a tipping comp, it's probably being won by someone who knows nothing about football.
There was obviously thursday's abortion
Collingwood winning was probably a given
Hawthorn tip over North
The Saints beat the Bombers
The Crows beat the Power
Fucking Gold Coast beat Geelong, who only kick 54 points
Melbourne flog SydneyAnyone who picked the majority of those did so with darts
Seriously, look at the fucking ladder. St Kilda are first, and Geelong are last. Is it fucking opposite day?
-
damn, 2 from 9....i did not get many right at all!...topped off with seeing the swans get a hiding, so annoyed we managed to get back within 6 but didn;t kick on

I did ok considering my knowledge of the sport is somewhat limited with a five from nine record thanks to Collingwood, Carlton, Saints, Demons and Freo all getting home. I must be one of those described above!
-
so i guess, just for a change, Ken Hinkley is the guy. The drums, the drums they are a beating.
Large numbers of Port fans have wanted him gone for ages, but he always seems to win enough games to keep his job, without ever looking like a real premiership team.
If at least one Lions forward isn't playing for the twos this week i will be banging the "Fagan out!!" drum hard (not for the first time)
-
Fagan is cooked
Forwards intact. There is no accountability at this club
-
@mariner4life not too worried about Fagan’s future, but if he doesn’t do anything else in his footy career, just get the boys up for tonight. Would love to see the Lions get the win over the Pies.
I do like how the Pies are playing, they have some great players and their coach is damn good - but their supporters are still the same…
Let’s go Lions.
-
Dare to believe. What a quarter by the Lions.
-
Smashed them. Cam rayner the spark, Charlie Cameron the scoring danger
Shut down the Collingwood run too.
Good win.
-
It's so weird to see the Easter Monday "blockbuster" being the bottom 2 teams in the league.
-
god damn im sick of supporting teams that loose!

did you celebrate and then collapse in despair? Fine friggen margin to lose a game.
-
@mariner4life we were away for the weekend so didn't watch, was looking forward to seeing the score and then watching the highlights
-
i think the comp kinda sorted itself out on the weekend
Brisbane and Collingwood will both play finals
Carlton should too, and put North in their place
What the fuck Freo?
Not sure either the Tigers or Dogs will play in September.
St Kilda will, and once again, the GC won't
I don't know what either Sydney or Port are
Essendon look okay actually.
Melbourne, despite a loss at the 'gabba, look to be the best side.
Welcome back from your nap Geelong.I fucking hate Jeremy Cameron, but he's the best player in the comp.
-

Not that I am remotely a fan, watching them live they do look good. I like their structure and they have some very talented players that know how to win the ball and carry.
Agree on Cameron on both fronts.
-
Gather round seemed a success. So it's immediately locked in for a few years.
This weekend definitely split the comp in two
I think the bottom 8 are already done for the year after 5 rounds. Hawthorn, WC, GC, and North are genuinely awful. The Dogs, Tigers, Giants and Freo are the next step up but not much better.
So there are 10 teams looking at 8 spots to play in September.
St Kilda lost but remain top, and that comeback lost them no admirers
The Dons beating Melbourne surprised me
Collingwood are bloody good
Carlton getting torched by Adelaide i did not see coming
Who would have picked that for the top 4 after 5 rounds?Brisbane had a nice percentage boosting bye.
-
have only managed to watch the highlights of the swans game...bloody hell papley was on fire, the goals he set up were more impressive that the ones he scored
-
the two talking points from the weekend (that is still in progress)
Carlton continue to be the March premiers, and then have the wheels fall off in April. Destined to finish 9th. But will still get shitloads of prime time games and have players win awards for some ungodly reason.
look away now @Kiwiwomble
The combined score from the last two times the Cats have played the Swans is 263-89. Considering one of these fixtures was a GF, that's beyond embarrassing. The Swans didn't kick a goal in the 2nd half.
-
@mariner4life thats was a fucking rough weekend
swans with an absolute hiding!....highlanders not as bad a hiding but horrible game to watch...woke up on sund and wimbledon lost 5-1 after going up 1-0...literally only safe from relegation due to other results....i hate support shit teams
-
Jeremy Cameron has kicked 27 goals in 6 games. Astounding to think his team played shit and lost the first 3 of those.
Should be fav for both the Coleman and the Brownlow.
