@Crucial - Hopefully a tournament sponsor can be found for next year. NZ Rugby are, among other possibilities, seeking to partner with Australia’s Super Rugby W for next year. A fifth SR team from NZ cannot be any worse than the SRW teams in Australia. If they’re trying to get the SRW teams to join Aupiki, they can set up a fifth SRA team.
So it seems the much vaunted Silver Lake expertise has not yet managed to secure one yet.
Who the fuck would want to sponsor such as pointlessly short tournament? Make it at least home and away

Not sure why Willison was kicking but Tubic on one leg (I take it there was something wrong with her foot) should’ve kicked the last kick.
Still, a great gutsy win from Matatu. Sheer belief and determination. They lifted tremendously as the game wore on & the Chiefs started making uncharacteristic mistakes.

Just for my own nerdy interest, is there someone who has access to the "NZRU Elite XV Competition Regulations Handbook"? This handbook contains the competition rules for Super Rugby Aupiki and are, unfortunately, not published on NZR's website.
I see the 2022 one is published but not the 2023.
The agreement for Aupiki around training/ pre-season/ player payments etc for 2023 haven't been published on the RPA site either but I can confirm that payment wise it is pro-rata pretty much the same as 2022 (obviously increased due to more weeks/games)

@Crucial Can you please post the link of the one you have found, because I can't find it. I can only find the Competitions Regulations Handbook for 2022, but that doesn't contain the Aupiki regulations.
I’m just on my phone but a dig around on the NZRPA site should help you.

@Crucial I suspect you're thinking of a different type of document than I'm referring to. This is not about player payments, leave, etc. It's the handbook that contains the rules for the SR Aupiki competition, similar to the Competitions Regulations Handbook, which contains the rules for the NPC, FPC and Heartland competitions. Rules about the format of the competition, competitions points allocation, ranking, tiebreaker rules etc.

Yeah. ThTs what I said a couple of posts ago. Both 2022 ones are available but the 2023 stuff isn’t.

Sorry. Think we are just in a tangle.
Yes 2022 Playing regs are available but don’t contain Aupiki.
NZRPA details regarding payments, sponsor endorsements etc etc are available for Aupiki but also only 2022. -

Seems to be released pre-NPC (no Super or Aupiki)

Went through this weekend's Super W team sheets to search for Aupiki players. I may have missed a name, but I found these players:
Amy Rule - Brumbies
Rachael Rakatau - Rebels
Di Hiini - Reds
Cristo Tofa - Reds
Carys Dallinger - Reds
Martha Mataele - Force
Atlanta Lolohea - ForceI assume there may be more, next week.
Also in the Reds squad is former Canterbury & Auckland player Sam Curtis; she didn't play in Aupiki.

A longer competition for 2024.
- An extended competition with a home and away format before a final.
- An eight-week individual paid preparation window before a four-week pre-season that will include two matches.
- Each club will contract 30 players (an increase of two players per squad).

@Steven-Harris Yeah, this year there wasn't an overlap so some players could do both. I wonder what agreement Nathan-Wong had with NZR?
