Unfortunately for the Rebels, it appears they can't maul or scrum.
Turnaround in the scrum is notable.

Rebels start the half looking superb. Passes going to hand, people running good lines in support. Tahs at sixes and sevens in defence.
Unfortunately for the Rebels, it appears they can't maul or scrum.
It's been another story in the last 40 minutes. The Rebels have won most scrums in the 2nd half.

Deserved win to the Rebels. Just looked more cohesive on attack.

For the tahs to only lose by 7 playing that badly probably says more about the rebels

Stacey with another barnstorming game at 2nd 5. He was a machine in carrying the ball and with some venom too.

Thats a bit unfair. Both sides left a few points other, perhaps the Tahs more, but Rebels simply executed much better.
I think the Tahs look quite unfit honestly. Rebels look decidedly leaner and much better for it.

I had a giggle at the commentators in this game twice describing Ekuasi (who was good impact off the bench) as a home grown/developed Rebels player, when they signed him out of Auckland about 3 weeks before the season started!

They've apparently done some bulking work in the off season to handle the physicality of the Kiwi opposition.
Might backfire as the game speeds up

If one of them was Turinui he was saying that they've balanced signing up and coming locals with players from other areas who could have a long career at the Rebels. I initially thought he was suggesting Ekuasi was homegrown too.

Really enjoyed the game as a neutral and arugby man, good reminder that a team seemingly playing for and with each other is still the way to win rugby. Hard not to be pleased for the Rebels supporters.
Same
Very entertaining contest
