but yeah, Cooks is seriously good. Plays good D, very physical, and his effort is huge (box out Cairns FFS!!!). Maybe his shooting keeps him from the NBA?

He, Cotton and Creek are definitely the 3 best players in the league, and by a margin. Cotton is too small to go any further though. I'm surprised Creek never made it back.

He'd need to bulk up a fair bit I guess - that 83kg physicality won't go very far in the NBA! Seriously, how can he be 83kgs at 6'8???

Those are old weight stats for Cooks. He struggled to put weight on even as a 21-22yo. Not sure how much he is now, but he’s not 83 kegs.

I loved what Antonio did last night. Catch and shoot has been his thing for a while and he did just that. He missed all the shots that he took a dribble, so that’s the scout for the Kings for game 2. But he’s always been a shooter and played a few big games for Wake Forest a couple of years ago. Saw him hit 6 or 7 3s against Florida State and there was a game against Virginia that I recall him getting a few.

Klay-esq. Klay can put up 40 without dribbling once, and he’s bloody awful when he puts it on the floor.

    me too

i have friggen hated what he's done most of the year though

it wasn't just shooting though, he played D (though he gets beaten by a quick first step, big work on) and was our top rebounder for a long time. Throw in 20 points and he had a day out.

DJ with a nice haul but on poor efficiency as the 3 deserted him. Problems were elsewhere

The home team has won every game in the SF series.

For the last couple of seasons I have lacked any interest with the Breakers stuck in Aust, so it is good to see a crowd at Spark Arena again. Stupid that we have to wait for a FIBA window before playing the final.

I wondered why there was such a delay!! That's a long break, all our players are fit and raring to go.

up and down weekend for the Taipans

Friday night a big win over the Kings to force Game 3. Brilliant night at the Convention Centre, full house and loud. Plenty of on-court shit to keep us entertained.

Of course the NBL makes sure their biggest market is protected as two Kings escape suspension.

Then yesterday we limp out, as the toll of 5 games in 11 days, with a severely reduced roster takes its toll. To push the Kings all the way without Pinder, without McCall for G1, Scott for games 2 and 3, and McCall playing but against doctors orders was a fucking huge effort.

I now fucking hate the Kings, just a cavalcade of flogs. I hope the Breakers stuff them. I won't be watching though.

    See ya next year.

Was great to see Barry Brown catch on fire and deliver in a big game. He had an amazing start and middle of the season but I thought he had gone a bit quiet and shied away from clutch time.

Pardon and Loe were massive too. Loe got 8 boards and 5 of those offensive. We will need him against the likes of Soares.

I think we match up well against the Kings. We will throw Brantley and Abercrombie at Cooks. Le’Afa will step up D on Walton Jnr.

    We need McDowell-White to fire. His last two games shooting, 2-7 (0-3 3pt) and 3-10 (0-5 3pt)

Barry Brown Jr has confirmed he is playing with a broken left hand, which was injured in the Hawks game. No problems!

Sydney are favourites but the Breakers are a good chance. It will probably come down to how the games are refereed, and whether the Kings get their preferential treatment.

This was on the TV news last night. A cool story.

A good 1st quarter from the Breakers. Cooks is already getting the calls from the refs.

Both teams starting to get really tight. Love it that Brown takes it to the rim in this instance

McDowell White not satisfied with shooting from deep, drives in and gets a layup to give NZ a 9 point lead. Shit that was smooth, he's having some game
