    Motherfucker!!!

Goddamn being in the West right now.

    I bet we lose Luka.

    Lose Luka??? Whaddya mean?

No way in hell he gets traded, you mean when he’s a FA in 26-27???

Suns look seriously scary to me. Lakers got better, but damn the Suns man.

Would love to see a Boston v Bucks and Suns v Dallas CFs

My point is that unless you have three stars, you cant hold your one star. And the Kyrie trade just got blown up as shit. We’re not winning this year.

    Jeez you’re so negative!

I reckon the Suns will be really good. But you guys have Luka and Kyrie, 2 of the top 5 iso players in the league. Defense won’t be fun, but you should be able to score with anyone

I am. I wasn’t that keen on the Kyrie trade anyway, so it’s probably not that surprising that this trade makes me feel less confident.

I’d like to add that I really fucking dislike Kevin Durant. He’s an amazing basketball player but he’s a ring-chasing follower. I’m glad it all blew up in Brooklyn. I assume Marks is going to be on his ass soon, unless it was all done by the owners.

I do hope that the Suns will be must watch TV for all the wrong reasons.

    Agree with the KD sentiment.

Don't know if Marks is out just yet though, they've got a billion high picks over the next few seasons do they not? And apparently he/his team are pretty good at scouting/development.

AD has always been a dick. His behaviour on the way out of NO was pretty shitty

I am basing my opinion on this footage of AD because this is the only footage I have seen of the incident, but I think people are being too harsh on AD. Is there a set way to celebrate now? Should he have jumped to his feet and bounced around? What if that'd just not in his personality? Like he's an introvert or something? The leg jiggling and knee slapping (I think) looked like a congratulations to me. And the video stopped just as he looked like he was getting to his feet. What happened after that?

A good read about how the KD trade went down.

Inside the final days of the greatest superteam that never was

Inside the final days of the greatest superteam that never was

Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst go inside one of the most audacious 144-hour periods in NBA history, including Brooklyn's superteam dismantling and how it gave way to a new behemoth in Phoenix.

@Crazy-Horse there was another video of Lebron and AD talking on the bench, they are tight as so I don’t think there is anything there. AD was ticked off with Russ and add to the fact he was playing poorly. I think he was ready to explode.

The crazy thing about all this is that he hasn’t played much and as is tradition around trade deadline time, guys get played to try and make them attractive to other teams.

I can understand why BKLN swung for the fences and built that superteam. They seem like a small market team despite being in NYC, it is not considered a top FA destination. I think they have done reasonably well to recover from this failure, reloading with a bunch of young good players and a swag of draft capital.

Dallas are taking a gamble with KI, but I guess Cuban is comfortable with the possibility that he might leave at the end of the season when the upside might be adeep playoff run.

LAL made some solid moves as well. Got rid of a bunch of expiring contracts, including Westbrook, and got younger with much improved cap flexibility for next season.

Tracking the careers of O’Neal, Artest and Jackson is quite something.

And Ben Wallace is a Hall of Famer….

    An upgrade for Russ.

After completing a contract buyout, nine-time All-Star guard Russell Westbrook plans to sign with the LA Clippers, his agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports, told ESPN.

Once Westbrook and the Utah Jazz complete the buyout on the remaining $47 million owed on his expiring deal, the former NBA MVP will clear waivers and return to Los Angeles -- this time with the Clippers.

With those two guys, Russ doesn't need to shoot from deep. Of course that may not stop him....

Russ has been told he would have a well-defined role:

The Clippers became increasingly interested with Westbrook as team officials, including coach Ty Lue and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank, dug into a series of conversations with Westbrook, sources said. Those discussions centered on Westbrook's willingness to fit into a clear and specific role with the Clippers built around his playmaking, rebounding and toughness, sources said.

You see, this conversation is what I had (wrongly?) assumed had taken place with LeBron, AD and Laker coaching ahead of their trade for him - and is why I thought the trade would work for them. Lead the 2nd unit, put the 3-ball away, bring energy and rebounding. Instead he jacked 4.1 3pta pg at a majestic .296 to ho along with a barrage of his trademark long 2's

I wouldn't trust him, though you have to think this is last-chance saloon for him

Also, I don't know if anyone bothered to watch the ASG, I certainly did not - and thank fck for that, what a hideous affair it looked to be. 126 3pta's including the East going 17-60 🤢 🤢 🤢

This. To be fair to him I don't believe the fit was good to start with

All Star Weekend now done and dusted. the ASG's ratings are in the toilet because it fucking sucks. Add in one more thing that star players don't care about (so that's the fans, the regular season, the team they play for, and the ASG) well, no, they still want their bonus for making it. They just don't want to put in the effort to make it a product that people give a shit about.

So now the season begins properly.
In the East you imagine, bar a blow up, that Boston and the Bucks are in the race for top seed. Philly and Cleveland probably get home court in the first round. Chicago and Indiana need to make up a couple of games to make the play in. Not easy in 25 games.
The Hawks should in the play in but they fired their coach? interesting move

In teh West Denver has first spot locked up. And it feels weird even typing this, but the Kings are in with a shout of the Grizzlies in 2nd. But it's 3.5 games separating 3rd to 9th. The Lakers need to make up a couple of games just to fall in to 10th. The defending champs should make the play in, but don't look like being able to go on a run.

If a team is a going to do anything then it's time to show it now.

I still feel like it's Boston v Suns in the Finals, IF KD can get himself right.
