It's so frustrating. Three pro bowlers on the defence (CJ Mosley, Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardener), DJ Reed an alternate with a strong claim (4th in yards allowed I think), Williams a dpoy contender, Sauce, looking like the second coming of Revis.
On the offence Garrett Wilson is a pro bowl alternate, probably going to get 1000 yards. When Corey Davis is fit he's one of the better WR2s in the league. A few more depth guys like Berrios and Mims who aren't studs but a fairly decent depth.
Offensive line has been wrecked by injuries and that's killed the running game, which is lethal for a team trying to run a shanahan scheme. Something like 4 guys at left tackle and 6 at right tackle. That's been a factor for Wilson but he hasn't been good enough from a clean pocket, so I suspect he would only be 'elevated' from generational bust to poor.
His contract makes him unlikely to be traded. The Jets aren't in cap hell but also aren't in a position to be spenders either. Trading him will cost more than keeping him. The most likely trade scenarios are either as part of a deal for another QB or if the Jets get a offer that's too good to refuse, The most likely scenario is that he goes to three on the depth behind Mike White and another vet and they spend a season rebuilding his mechanics. Another big factor will be how the draft plays out. If a top prospect falls to them they might pull the trigger at which point Zach will be gone. But they're looking to be mid round and in a draft without a strong QB group there's unlikely to be an option.
Want to go completely crazy? Call the Packers. The Jets offensive coordinator is the little brother of the Packers HC. The Packers HC is also the best mate of the Jets HC so maybe something happens. Incidentally, without that relationship, the OC is probably fired this year. It'll be a big test of Saleh as a coach, because some of the blame this year has to go an frankly awful play calling so if there wasn't the personal connection I'd be saying he's definitely gone.

Great performance and result for the Cowboys

Dolphins star QB Tua got concussed on Sunday (they called it a 'back injury') was allowed to play Thursday night and then this happened.
NFL lead the way in a lot of things - not in regards to concussion management.
This makes me think of Any Given Sunday and how James Woods played the rogue doctor.
A bad update for Tua.
He is in concussion protocol again. 3rd time in a season.
Surely he's shut down for the rest of the season and has to at least contemplate retirement.

The 2023 QB carousel is making an early start. The raiders bench Carr for the rest of the season. Officially they're saying this is about getting 'the best chance to win', but really this is about cap hits.
If Carr gets injured they're on the hock for 40 million. If he's on the roster on 15 Feb they're also on the hock for 40 million. I expect the Raiders to be frantically shopping Carr at the moment. But he has a no trade clause so it's going to be tricky because he'll have to agree to the destination. I can see the raiders cutting him.
He's difficult to assess at the moment. His career numbers are solid - borderline top ten. This year he's been bad, despite the addition of Adams. But his defence has stunk and he's been missing Darren Waller. Plus Josh McDaniels is the HC and ignoring years when Brady is his QB he has an awful record. He's probably good enough that a team will bite and offer the raiders something (day 2 pick and change) and then restructure him (3 years, 90m, mostly guaranteed).

Carr has next Stafford written all over him

Raiders have been a poor team for most of his tenure. I read that his stats put him in the top 10 QBs. Someone will want to take a chance on him

Damar Hamlin of the Bills collapses after a routine tackle. 9 minutes of CPR, then into an ambulance. It's terrifying - game postponed. Incredible scenes I have never seen before.
Amazing scenes alright.
On the competition side this has an impact on the division outcomes. Not that anyone is worried about that at the moment but it may make things complicated for the playoffs and the officials are going to have to make some big calls.

Watching it live it didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary other than getting hit flush in the chest. Damar was able to get up but then collapsed immediately after.
Took me back to Hank Gathers.

Frankly, I'm really struggling to process this. It looks like a cardiac type injury - heart attack or similar - but goddamn.
Injuries are part of watching,a nd I was literally talking to my Bengals supporting mate about struggling to see big hits and watch teh sport ... and then this happens. The players looked devastated.
Crazy times.

That was for a Toy Drive for the local community.
