what the fucking hell is this shit?

    Dec 12, 2022

How 'ruthless, murderous trio' lured Queensland police into deadly rural ambush

How 'ruthless, murderous trio' lured Queensland police into deadly rural ambush

A six-hour siege west of Brisbane on Monday ended with two police officers, a member of the public and three offenders shot dead. Here's how the events of a tragic day unfolded.

I know it's been a bit hot, but holy shit!?!?

If the facts are as first said, cops just walked straight in to some sort of ambush, they killed the neighbor, and were definitely trying to kill all 4 of those officers.

There is a real fucking weird story to be told here.

    Pretty fucking scary.

Got to feel for the cop they tried to burn out.

Some those places out there do seem to suit the weird hermit types.

Just been reading this article while trying to make sense of it all.

Shock at former school principal’s involvement in fatal shootout

    Jordan Baker

    December 13, 2022 — 1.04pm

The NSW man involved in a shoot-out that left six people dead in Queensland had been a principal at Walgett Community College Primary School in the state’s north-west until the middle of last year, and had been held in high regard by teachers and elders for his efforts to improve the school.

Nathaniel Train left Walgett in August last year after suffering a massive heart attack at the school and being revived by staff, and people who knew him said his mental health deteriorated significantly after his departure. He had been missing since October.

After he left, Train became frustrated at the way the school was being run and its failure to implement his changes. He complained to the NSW Ombudsman, One Nation MP Mark Latham and local MPs. He returned to Walgett in October, but left again and had not been seen since.

His wife still works at the school, but did not know where he had gone. Counsellors have been sent to Walgett to help the school community.

Queensland police were responding to a request from their NSW counterparts to check on Train at his brother’s property in the Darling Downs region, west of Brisbane, when they become involved in an apparent ambush that left two officers and a member of the public dead.

Special Operations police later shot dead three more people, including Train.

The primary and secondary schools in Walgett have been plagued by violence and high teacher turnover, but issues at the primary school were not as serious as those at the high school.

Train was a former principal of Yorkeys Knob state school in Cairns. He moved from Queensland to teach at the school in mid-2021, and was well respected by many of Walgett locals, some of whom told this masthead they were shocked such a likeable man was involved in this horrific attack.

“He was for the kids,” said one teacher who worked with him. “He was about education and for the kids. I’m blown away that he’s done what he’s done. I found him quite personable. He knew what he wanted to achieve. Tidy things up, get it functioning properly.”

Another senior member of the community said elders had “total faith in him” as executive principal of the primary school. “He was wonderful. He was making some really important changes. We were supportive of him and trusted his intelligence. We hoped he would come back.”

However, after he left, Train became frustrated at the school’s failure to continue implementing his reforms. He complained to the NSW Ombudsman and sent frequent, furious emails – often many within short periods – to senior NSW Education Department chiefs.

In the course of two weeks in March, Train sent 16 emails to NSW Department of Education secretary Georgina Harrisson.

One person who saw some of the emails said they suggested fragile mental health. “They were quite out there,” the person said. “His mental health deteriorated post Walgett.”

Train was also in touch with Latham, who has repeatedly raised concerns about the issues facing Walgett Community College in parliament. “He came to me with complaints about a lack of support from the education department and a lack of action,” Latham told the Herald.

His concerns centred on teaching standards and the performance of teachers’ aides at the school. “He left the school badly disappointed,” said Latham. “He said he was taking time out to recover from the experience [at the school] and the heart attack.”

Train’s frustration arose from his concern for the students, Latham said, who thought the tone and frequency of the emails reflected his frustration. “His heart was in the right place.”

Latham last heard from him five or six months ago, and then “he fell off the radar,” he said.

In a statement, the NSW Department of Education offered its condolences to the Queensland Police and the families and friends of those impacted by the tragic incident in rural Queensland overnight.

“One of the deceased was a former NSW Education employee who had not been working at a NSW school since August 2021. He officially left our employment in March this year.

“Extra counselling will be provided at the impacted school today and for as long as staff and students require support.”

One of three people involved in the fatal shooting of police in Queensland was former NSW primary school principal Nathaniel Train, who was highly regarded by teachers and elders.

Supposedly first four cops attended to enquire after a mising person.

Not been seen by family four year or so, but gone silent in the last week or so.

Seems he was one of the scrotes and this was his brother's place.

Thoughts with @Crazy-Horse and his colleagues.

In an odd way it feels like it makes even less sense after that SMH article. Former diligent Principal has heart attack, turns obsessed lobbyist, abandons wife, vanishes into insane/evil hermit cold-blooded executioner.

Though as I type that I see the Guardian article that you've posted - looks like the rabbit hole went deep for the brother and the sister-in-law. And looks like he joined them.

It's out near Chinchilla. Add mental health, access to firearms, probable meth use and a desire to be isolated. No one out that way is normal.

    Oh yeah. Fucking flags everywhere:

“When it becomes clear that we are in a time like no other and you head out into the wilderness to escape persecution, know that my wife and I will offer refuge to all brothers and sisters,” he posted.

“I will be scanning the UHF channels when that times comes.”

Gareth said the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 – Australia’s deadliest mass shooting – had been a “false flag” operation to “disarm the Australian population”.

He also posted about his mistrust for authorities, including comments critical of the Queensland Special Emergency Response Team (Sert), which ultimately arrived at the property and is understood to have shot him.

“If you are a conservative, anti-vaxx [sic], freedom lover, protester, common law, conspiracy talker, alternative news, independent critical thinker, truther, Christian, patriot etc etc expect a visit from these hammers,” he said.

Nothing like a bit of common law / independent thinker to get the crazies moist. Ice it with a layer of "Port Arthur False Flag" rubbish and it is a perfect storm.

It's fine to report a missing person, but it is hard when they don't want to be found. No good outcome.

Lived and was a principal up here

    Because of course he did.

Articles in the local paper remind of that great Billy Connelly bit about how people describe serial killers when it comes out, how they are never life of the party "any body want to come and see my daggers?"

As soon as someone tells me they think Port Arthur is a conspiracy, I immediately enquire if they have access to firearms.

I mentioned it earlier but no one would be that surprised that some blockies from Darling Downs ended up doing this.

Yes. When I suspect someone is batshit insane, I tend to encourage them to voice their thoughts to see just how deep the rabbit warren runs. They're always too pleased to find a person who they think shares the same beliefs and it's remarkably easy to do. Red tape -> government intervention / intrusion -> loss of liberty. All perfectly sane topics at the surface with legitimate examples. Then have a look under the surface to see how fast that duck is paddling.

I'd say after the last few years there'd be more than ever.
