Denver playing surprisingly well against the Bills. Thought this would be a bloodbath, but it's probably going to OT.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone - don't forget two more games to go yet today

if by Denver you mean Detroit, then yes

Bills have fallen back to the pack a bit recently

ah crap, yes. Detroit. Same start right 😛 Clearly an early start

Second game fun too; good day to be chilling around the house. Cricket this afternoon to multitask on

also, classic Lions at the end; give up a FG with less than 30 seconds on the clock. Just ripped open when it mattered the most.

    Josh Allen is some player

Apart from the Cowboys game, the Vikings have been fun to watch this year. They look great in patches of games and then let others back in but have found a way mostly to stay on top so far anyway..

@bayimports Belichek is on hell of a coach. Turns journeymen into proper defensive rocks. It's seriously impressive.

This Vikings team is one of the jammiest teams I can remember for a while. They're 9-2 with a negative points differential. Insane.

That's an incredible 49ers win over the Dolphins.

Conceding a 75 yard TD on the first play.

Losing Jimmy G for the game (season?) on the first offensive drive.

The last pick in this year's Draft aka Mr Irrelevant rookie Brock Purdy comes in and plays great at QB.

49ers defense were able to generate turnovers from the Dolphins. Bosa leads the league in sacks.

The 49ers season might rest on whether or not Jimmy G can come back but either way that was an amazing win.

The Broncos are fucked. Fucked i tell you. And the worst thing? We sold the fucking farm to get us this fucked. FFTFF (fucked for the foreseeable future)

If i was the defence i would go on strike. Yet again they proved themselves to be elite. They have conceded 204 points in 12 games. And they have won 3 times.

Seahawks currently getting pick number 3 next year as part of the trade. The Seahawks have an abysmal record in the first round (they're amazing in later rounds though). I'm intrigued to see how they go with it. Could be a dream spot to grab a QB. Get a top prospect. Give him a couple of years behind Geno and then let him loose. Also slightly reduces the leverage Geno has when he hits free agency at the end of the season since if they love one of the QBs and think they're day one starters (I'm not convinced, but that's off season chat!) then they can move on if they have to (or feel more comfortable tagging him and letting him walk after a year or two). Of course Geno has to hold it together down the stretch first.

@mariner4life if I'm the Broncos I look for a functional starting QB in the mid-rounds in the draft - might as well take a swing on a cheap QB to at least perhaps push Wilson next season - you never know you might find a gem - Wilson himself was a 3rd rounder.

Agreed - 49ers are uniquely set up where they can still be functional with a rookie 7th round QB. Just needs to distribute to the playmakers.

Similar to the backup in Dallas. Of course as the season gets deeper he will need to make some throws

Baker Mayfield released by the Panthers.

I wonder if the Rams might pick him up as a rental for the rest of the year just to see if there's anything there for McVay to work with as Stafford might not have much left in the tank next year.

    Or maybe the 9ers?

Makes sense. He's a waiver so they get the remainder of his contract which is pretty team friendly thanks to the browns eating a chunk to get him off the books.

Since it's a waiver the Rams have a pretty good chance to get him if they claim him, only Texans, bears and broncos have a higher priority. Bears and Broncos definitely won't be interested and I doubt the Texans will be. Real question is whether they have concerns about his personality.

@Cyclops I think he's solid. No star, but he really helped the Browns go from dumpster fire to mediocre... Which was a massive shift.

But yeah, he really hasn't kicked on

I think I’ve said it before, but Peyton & Eli is one of the best sports shows on TV. Just love how they dissect it and the back and forth with each other and their guest.

Not solid enough for a bad panthers team to keep. I guess it depends on what you mean by solid. I'd say upper tier backup, is very dependent on having all the pieces he needs around him. Somewhere like the 49ers would be a perfect landing spot for him.

The way I see it there are really three tiers of QBs (maybe four); the studs who can throw guys open, pick apart on offence, the starters who can consistently find easy completions and take what the defence gives but can't carry a team (Kirk Cousins and Andy Dalton come to mind here), and backup QBs who can execute well enough that they look good in favourable situations, can maybe find a game or two when they're in good form/have a hot streak but get broken down and figured out by defences if they have to start for an extended period. The fourth tier is below even that, but those guys don't last long in the NFL. A tier 2 RB who is an elite runner gets promoted to tier 1 but has longevity issues. Tier 2 QBs at the right price look tier 1 but ruin a team at the wrong price.
