@Dan54 The coaching influence look fairly significant, the Reds with Kane Hames as assistant to Thorn and the Force has a Kiwi in charge. Wouldn't surprise me if the Aussie and even Drua are fielding around 5 Kiwis or guys who have gone through the Kiwi setup on average.

@SBW1 I think current Northland assistant coach Graham Dewes is involved in the Drua coaching team

The away jersey looks like Ta$man. At least it isn't white.

They've missed a few late additions, but still a handy list.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/130650737/new-zealand-rugby-and-rugby-australia-strike-new-super-rugby-pacific-deal-until-2030

current format stays as it it till 2030, reading it now but i do hope thats not at the exclusion of teams from japan say

The announcement of the deal also means the much-discussed world club competition has taken another step forward.

Under the 16-team format agreed upon by rugby bosses in both hemispheres, Super Rugby Pacific will supply seven teams, alongside one from Japan and eight from the European Champions Cup.

I think i missed this had actually been agreed too

@Kiwiwomble It was clear from the start that McLennan's threats to leave the comp was just a load of hot air. Not surprised the comp will continue.

    This is interesting:

The confirmation of the current Super Rugby Pacific format – with the eight-team finals format – will disappoint some fans and will be seen as a win for Australia, which has generally struggled with player depth.

However, Marinos said there would be rule changes in Super Rugby Pacific to make the game more appealing.

“RA and NZ Rugby are committed to the development of the most exciting form of rugby in the world, through trialling and implementing new rules, new ways of engaging fans and broadcast innovations with our partners,” he said in a statement.

Hopefully, those rule changes do not include the same stupid "sin-bin power-play" rule that the RFU is proposing for the new Premiership and Championship Cup competition (or similar nonsense).

    Good news.

I would think the new rules would be things like time off/time limits at scrumtime etc

at very least you would hope this kind of certainty will make sponsors happy and easier to find as well as new broadcast deal

Thank god that's over. always thought it would sort itself out regardless of Hamish Mclennans yapping.

I will say, that seems quite true about tv deal money split, only a very gullible person ever thought that that NZR was going to split their tv revenue, which included tests, NPC etc etc.

That Im ok with, but I think most rules should fall in line with International rules as it looked liked we failed to adjust early in our AB campaign this year
