England vs Springboks

England beaten with their own game plan.
They'll be smarting from the towelling in the scrums in particular.
Boks building nicely into 2023

Dont write England off for WC year. They are a lumbering beast yes, and that was a beastly performance sure - but they will learn from that and be better next year.

What I found interesting through the week , putting aside all nz loyalties ( we have our own issues too )
England in most areas such as their fan base were claiming last week as a moral victory when they were beaten up for most parts of the game , the late tries imo saved a bit of face and camouflaged how average they mostly were .

Another committee meeting. This is farking killing our game.
Yeah. Water breaks? In London on a late Autumn Day?
-
@Victor-Meldrew just another thing to slow the game down and allow bigger players more time on the park

@Mattasaurus It's coming in the winter and there should not be water breaks. Whose brainchild was this?
World Rugby.
Based in Ireland....

Watching the replay now, and haven't seen the score yet (so haven't read the thread).
Excellent from referee Gardner to send off the waterboys/medics from England around the 21st minute mark. Also asking the ARs/4th official to stop the medics from coming on when there is no injury. All that happening while Farrell was preparing to take a kick.

Pains me to say this as can’t for the life of me stand either of these teams ..but the Boks in my opinion are favourites to retain the RWC ..they are a tournament team and quite frankly they have beaten up most packs they have come up against this year ..not pretty but bloody effective
And at those odds , I’m all over it

These water breaks just add another entry on the blight on the game list
The idea is ok, it needs tweaking though.
The idea was to cut down the number of times water runners came on (like at scrum times etc). So when a player takes an “injury” break, everyone gets their water.
Maybe get rid of the time minimum and make it so that if everyone is on their feet that get a sip and 30 seconds to get started.
Agree that aerobic attrition should be part of the game and keeping things moving should be a priority
