Chrystal Ball - WC starting team 12 months out

@Kiwiwomble Woodcock was more durable than Moody has been at a similar age with the injuries. But most importantly, we need some more youth and mobility amongst the props.
They've made 3 bold selections this year for the props but keeping the likes of Laulala and Moody will be a repeat of 1991. Ofa can still provide the experience but needs to step up for the ABs. Bower offers something different in the group. That would mean there is space for another prop, which could be a LH or TH depending on where they play Ofa. Lots to play for in SR.

look, i realise this damn near a wind up but
the chances of R Ioane not starting at 13 next year are about the same as me getting the 6 jersey, so just stop predicting teams where he is playing 11. it's not fucking happening
Lol I hope this post ages poorly. Ioane was a mess against England on the weekend and I certainly don't think he's nailed down that spot. If ALB/Goodhue or similar hit some decent form they could easily take back that 13 jersey considering they have better distribution skills. Plus, the Ioane/Clarke axis just doesn't work. One of them will have to move aside IMO.

@ploughboy if ALB had managed to string as many games together (more than a couple?) as RI has this year where he was one of only a handful to perform then that might be true...but i think RI has earnt a bit of forgiveness this season
Maybe so but that still doesn't make him a world-class centre.

@Bovidae Woodcock was 35 in 2015
And broke down in a pool game, missing all the playoff matches. Ironically, replaced by Moody.
Followed by Crockett going down and Manu coming in ... only uncapped RWC winner in history!

i think his performance this year make him one...at very least the best option we have at 13 currently
-
@Kiwiwomble hes the best option because everyone elsehas been injured
-
@ploughboy lots would disagree but even if we concede that point....so? thats still better than someone who last played a great game multiple years ago

That last 10 minutes will benefit the ABs next year. What a shock.
The forwards were brilliant. -
The big work ons I reckon are:
- Richie M - Jordie applying pressure by kicking long at times
- Cut out the dinky high risk defensive chip kicks
- Backline defence.
- Giving Jordan game time at 15
- BB impact sub

Bolter for the squad as a 6 P. Ennis currently playing in the Reserve B team in the Thames Valley competition.
I'll tell you who else has the attributes they're apparently looking for and who might get a run at 6 now that Matera is gone - is Mitch Dunshea.
