Will this be anything but a pounding? The bookies say "no", but are clearly banking on the Wallabies playing well after playing shit:
TBH I think they're ignoring the fact that last week's team was completely different to the side who took on France, who are therefore up for a shit game.
Andry Friend sums up the obvious: https://www.rugby.com.au/news/friend-points-wallabies-to-irish-lessons-20221116
"I really like some of the rugby they've played but it's too hard when you give away possession with so many red penalties, we call them, dumb-arse penalties," Friend told AAP.
Ireland by 23
I have a strong hunch the Wallabies will pull off a surprise.
So Ireland by 1 then….
Oz will need a number of the forwards that played against France to really lift. I thought the rucks were very messy in that match. It’s hard to say that was the reason the game opened up for both sides, but Ireland play a more disciplined ruck game than France. Looking forward to it.
Go the Aussies aye 😀

@ACT-Crusader Ireland are due a down day, and if the Aussie team which played France turns up it's game on.
-
I think the Wallabies will pull it off. They're due to click long enough to hold out for a win.

I hope they can. While a win would only move them up the rankings one or two places (depending on the Scotland v Arg result), it would knock Ireland off the top and below us. A NZ win beforehand would make the gap between us and France (1 and 2) very small.
Won't that make a mockery of the whole ranking system? I mean, we've lost to Ireland, SA, France, Argentina and almost Australia...
Ireland would be the only 'anomaly' expect that since they beat us they would have lost to a team that we beat twice. So the passage of time and current form would indicate that we could claim to be ahead of them anyway.
If Ireland was playing nz this weekend in Dublin I’d have then as warm favourites.

It would be a tight game I reckon.

Nope
Regardless -
@MiketheSnow I shouldn't be averse to a punt on Oz if odds lengthen a bit!

I think Ireland will win, and comfortably. While the convicts have a game to frustrate and take apart a structured opponent, that takes a level of discipline and execution the Wallabies haven't demonstrated this year.
