@Bovidae i do not remember him at all but see he was announced for otago back in 2020
He was in the same rep cohort as Jermaine Pepe, who went down to Otago from Canterbury. Would only be early 20s.

@cgrant I wish we knew. We only know a few players who have been announced as having signed a development contract. Once preseason starts, we'll have to examine all the photos on social media to identify more players. I don't understand why they don't publish a list of WTG players anymore.

@Higgins He joined the Brumbies in March 2021 as injury cover and has been with them since. He's played 16 games for them. He's been with Waikato since 2016.
He signed with Kobe Kobelco Steelers for the 2020 season, but Covid happened, and I don't think he's played for them at all.

Manasa Mataele's younger brother Rupeni has made the Western Force squad.
Star, I surprised that Campbell Parata hasn't made the Force squad, he looked a better bet than some that they seem to have listed at 10. He's a kid I watched when he played for Southport school and kind of kept an eye on him. I also kind of surprised that Ian Prior is still there, he just never seems to inspire confidence.
To be honest neither Force or Rebels look too strong to me.

I raised the issue of cards ruining matches with the coach of the Brumbies. He said it's an issue all the coaches in SR are aware of and agree needs to be resolved. I asked why the emphasis isn't on reporting to judiciary and greatly increased punishments instead of handing out red cards to which his response was that's what they want to do.
So hopefully this alignment between coaches, referees and administrators provides us all with a better viewing experience.
