Three of our coach's pets are starting.
Grrrr.
Also who does the new hooker play for?
Gene Syminton plays for Taradale. A Lindisfarne old boy.

Strong team and cant help but be impressed with the Hawkes Bay line up over the past couple of years. Think they will be hurting too after losing the shield, not really when you want to come up against them.
I thought BOP was playing at home? Or is this a @Stargazer mistake? "thread title"
Lastly although I suspect Hawkes Bay will be too strong, I can only hope that the player swap that has happened this year continues the form of each respective players ..might give us a chance lol.
Tiatia v Kaka individually seems to have had only one winner this year

The Tiatia effect and the local suburban home ground probably tips the match in your favour.

It's the sort of game that Tiatia will score four tries in. Because Tiatia.
You say that, but I don't believe you. He hasn't had any of the diamonds this year, just rocks, can't see that changing this weekend. Hopefully he goes off early and Makene can replace him.

He always liked our suburban home ground though. (That's the suburban ground that hasn't installed multicoloured seats to try and hide low crowd numbers )

@bayimports Yeah, sorry, my mistake. I have corrected the thread title.
And don't even try claiming underdog status. You're firm favourites and on a high, while we are on a low due to losing the Shield and generally not as good as last year.
While we have mostly the same squad and the same quality players as previous years, we also have a new head coach and new assistant coach, who are clearly not as good, because we're playing way too loose, our tackle stats must be down and our new coach has some pets that keep getting selected/starts without having earned them. We're also missing Ash Dixon's leadership dearly.
Having said that, I hope our loose bunch plays your lot off the park to celebrate Devan Flanders' 50th game.

Why would you, you all just watch for free from the playground anyway.

I haven't seen Jason Long since pre-season. I'm assuming he is injured?

TAB has us as firm favourites..what would they know? idiots

Personally, I hope this team that likes to "lose" turns up

@bayimports Ha, thanks for pointing out the typo. I swear I typed that right, but my keyboard has a will of it's own (stuck keys, I guess that means I need to clean it).

one of the things i miss from my childhood is watching afternoon Bay games at the Domain with my dad
Watching from the playground until half time when we could get in for free. then sitting on that concrete step below the bowls club.
And a memory I like reading about, great how some of us had to find ways to watch games without cash!

Here's hoping Gillies remembers who gave him is first big break...
