@canefan It is sorely tempting to remove the last three words from your post!

My prediction is that Morgan will run rings around McClutchie, Lakai will school Flanders off the back of the scrum, Umaga-Jensen will make mince meat of Toala, Tiatia will be chasing Love all day long, Perenara will prove he’s a better 9 than Weber, Delany will once again be our standout loose forward, Numia will outplay Rakete-Stones and Bird will steal all the Magpie lineout ball as Wellington cruise to an easy victory. 😁

we’ve got Delany at 6 who’s our lock cover and has also been our best forward this year.

Hes been good. But others who would compete for the best spot would be Lukai, Numia and Aumua

Looks a good side but HB must start as favourites.

Rightfully so as they are at home but Wellington definitely have the goods to do the job. Whether we can put it out there on the day remains to be seen.

We are rubbish at Shield challenges

Funny seeing you Wellingtonians try claim underdog status, meanwhile we can't get any more than 3 of our players in your franchise at any given time and have had to resort to importing a cast off from BoP who was a cast off from you guys originally.

You guys are un-backable favourites. We really should just hand the shield over to you when you arrive, but that would make Stan Dean too happy when he looks up from his spot in hell so we'll at least stick up a token defence.

Wellington to reverse the 1926 result with a 58-8 win.

    The curtain raiser is:

Hurricanes Heartland Under 20 v Chiefs Heartland U20s
    Kick-off 4.50pm at McLean Park

I couldn't find the Chiefs Heartland U20 line-up, but the squad is here:

@Billsy111 The Wellington tight forwards are what could at best be described as "average"

How DARE you call the 2mtr plus Lord Blackwell average…you should have you mouth washed out with soap 😉

@mikey07 it’s quite ironic that we have both the shortest and tallest lock in NZ lining up together.

You would expect the Hurricanes to win this game with a larger player pool from 5 PUs to choose from. The Chiefs are only TV and KC. BTW, Oli Mathis (Y12 Hamilton BHS co-captain) is in the Chiefs squad.

For those coming up from points south for the game it is a normal HB day today with not a cloud in the sky and probably likely to remain that way until mid afternoon. Currently sitting on 20 degrees according to the thermometer in the sun on the back porch but probably around the 16 degree mark in the shade. Game time will see the temperature hover around the 10 degree area but with the easterly expected there will be a wind chill to it so dress as if it will be about the five degrees mark.

A slight northerly breeze is wafting through at the moment but that will more than likely turn toward the east later on as it does a lot here in Napier City.

Not sure of the expected crowd size but if you haven't got tickets yet factor in about a ten minute queue time to get yours at the Park and about the same or more to get past the security checks to get into the ground. In other words don't front up at 7.00pm and expect to see the kick off live!

If you are near Latham Street the ticket boxes will be open earlier of course so think seriously about buying yours then. Tickets are also available online, try either of these

Parking is not too bad in the streets around the park. You will find one somewhere but be prepared for a 15 to 20 minute walk if you leave it real late. The ground in the surrounding area is completely flat so it should not be too much of a physical exercise!

Here is one person with his foot definitely in one camp! Not sure what is happening with my guys jerseys but they do not appear to have the HBRFU emblem on them.

Even though he has an annoying face, Sapsford is quite a useful player at NPC. Did I read he has signed for an Aussie Super team?
