Well I didn't see this happening.
Despite the no trade clause it actually should make it easier to trade Jimmy G as his salary is now lower (he can wave the no trade clause).
Whilst in theory this gives the 49ers a very strong QB room again - it's tough on Lance who will have to be looking over his shoulder all season.

Expensive insurance policy. I still see the 9ers giving Trey plenty of rope to grow into the position. It probably screws up a few teams who could have used Jimmy to strengthen as well

Allen and the Bills off to a fast start here. Allen has it on a string.
Apparently Allen is the shortest price favourite to win player of the year heading into the start of a season.
-
Dominant second half defensively by the Bills. Allen did his thing passing and even carrying the ball, but I thought the Bills defence really took care of business.
Bills win 31-10
-
Bears upset the 49ers in the wet.
A bit of a revenge game for the Bears with Fields proving a point to the 49ers who didn't draft him and Dante Pettis (former 49ers second round pick who was cut) scoring a huge TD.
The loss wasn't solely on Trey Lance but this will do little to quell the drama with Jimmy G sitting there as a backup.

interesting first week
Bills show why they are under the most pressure this year. That is a hot team (goddam how good is Vonn still?) and need to win.
Bengals lose week 1 as well
the fucking Giants win!
Kansas City torch the Cards and their wildly overpaid QB
GB has a shocker to openIf MNF goes the way i want it to there will be two Divisions with no winners

At home, in the most Bengals way ever. Two missed kicks to win; a PAT and a 30 yarder. Just insane.
I didn't see the whole game - did Burrow stay upright?
-
Some amazing results to start the season and the NFL and broadcasters will be pretty pleased. Eight games decided by 6 points or less.
@nzzp I do love a good US anthem rendition at their sporting events.
-
@ACT-Crusader Bucs look classic Tom Brady. Ruthlessly efficient.
-
oh look, the Broncos top side doesn't play a snap in preseason, turns up Week 1 and look rusty as fuck. 3 or 4 red zone entries for nothing from the Broncos.
Lose by a point to a gutsy but limited Seahawks. Great redzone D.

Two turnovers from a yard out, and then the long FG miss. Felt like they should have tried to get closer - second longest FG in history is a big call right?

from memory it was the 4th and pretty long still right? didn't miss by much (distance was fine). Big call either way.

it really was a big call. No winners - and looked good off the boot.
That said, the stats said 2/31 is the success rate at that distance...

Denver should have won by 20. Playcalling and coaching cost them the game.
Plenty to like if you are a Broncos fan - Sutton and Jeudy look great, Russ was cooking, backfield was firing. They were all over the Seahawks D.
And yet they lost. Can't win the Superbowl with that sort of playcalling.

the fucking time to get plays set was a huge issue as well. Couple of "delay of games" and so many hurried plays as the clock hit the two zeros
Seattle had a sort of soak defense that gave up a shit tone of yards right up to the red zone. Red zone offence was pretty fucking ordinary (couple of good defensive plays admittedly).
