And the yellow card to the Argies, which stood even though play was called back to an earlier infringement that the ref missed, meaning that he got a card in a part of the game that never actually happened?

That's not what happened at all.

Terrible ref and just generally very poor officiating.
Selections turned out to be ok and the bokke were up for it. Aussie gamesmanship didn’t work this time, good to see

People talked a lot about the Bok changes and the Wallabies stability, but really it doesn't matter in this context.

The Bok game plan lends itself to personnel change; it is simple, straightforward, and well suited to Test rugby. Swap a few parts and it doesn't matter. Tonight they added a bit of finesse to that with some nice back line play. We can talk up Moodie for catching a ball and running fast, unopposed, to the line. South Africa have heaps of wingers who could do that.

They also have heaps of forwards who can grind you into dust.

Australia has a game plan that simply isn't going to work if we can't hold onto the ball, and man did we suck at that tonight. One more body in each ruck would help if they knew how to hit rucks.

I think he's referring to dives. Which is odd, because nobody got a gentle tap in the face, except Koroibete from Mapimpi*, and he was already on the ground, so couldn't dive.

*Who, it must be said, is a little bitch.

Going down like you've been punched in the face, when all that happened was a little slap by finger tips to milk a penalty. Or having your front row pretend they are injured to slow the game down to a speed you find more comfortable

Very important win for the SpringSKOPPE. For the first time our backline look good. Willemse kicking has always been a worry. He should just offload or step or defend. Time for RasNaber to trust in the younger lot like Moody.

@Machpants I mean, the front row thing is Boks 101. Weird jab. Plenty to criticise there that actually happened.

I am wondering whether Nierasmus are reading posts online and have decided to trigger me with that selection.

    Where to start.

Wiese can fuck right off, and keep fucking off.

Mostert is not a blindside, how many times are we going to make the same mistake. I really like him as a lock, but we have Louw in the squad or we could bring Kwagga in like last year, when he did very well.

    No lock on the bench.

Willemse at 10 - hes been good at fullback for the boks and was brilliant at 12 for the stormers, but asking him to now switch position again and take goal kicks is a lot to ask. The coaches have stubbornly refused to look at any flyhalfs other than Jantjes and Pollard (even in the squad and training camps) and this what we are left with.

Fourie, wtaf. He was good for the stormers (as an openside), but he is 35 years old. Bit ok maybe we have an emergency? Well not really, we still have Grobbelaar that was in the squad last year and who was very good for the Bulls in the URC, or we could call in Acker van der Merwe. The stormers were down four hookers this season, they were calling up guys on loan to cover, you know what they didnt do? Play Fourie at hooker. Now all of sudden hes on the bench for the boks

I was critical of the team, but fair dues, it worked.

Wiese was good at what he does, he still wouldnt be my choice, but he was selected to do one job and did it well.

Mostert was brilliant - haven't seen the stats but pretty sure he topped the tackle count. Australia trued to exploit his lack of pace a couple times, his workrate more than made up for it.

Willemse played some great rugby, but not really much of a flyhalf game. His kicking at posts was poor, but forcing us to go for the corner had the benefit of giving the team more tactical focus.

Fourie did nothing when he came on, but it was nice to be able sub Kolisi (who was fantastic) late after he got a knock.

Moodie got a good try and one good tackle, but seemed a little lost otherwise. Will be better in future i guess, so yeah longt term its nice to have.

Kriel was fine, which is more than i was expecting.

Thought the young 1st 5 for the Boks was very good. Lolesio was poor.

Valentino and Koroibete have really high workrates. Thought both were good for the Aussies.

I must say the test itself was largely a cripple fight for the most part. Both teams looked clueless in attack and failed to take advantage of some decent ball.

Etzebeth will now be known as Crazy Eyes. Sheesh he had the red mist going….
