Manawatū v Hawke's Bay

At last! Despite the fullback this has the making of a huge win to The Bay given the lineup named. Perhaps not quite as big as expected but still by at least thirty five, and probably more. @Stargazer Any sign of the HB B side yet?
-
@Higgins Yes, this is the starting XIV that I'd like to see in the big games, so hopefully it will be a good game, not only a good win. Looking forward to see Fakatava doing some damage in the 2nd half. It will be interesting to see how many minutes he'll get.
No lock cover on the bench. Gimblett is 1.91m, two centimetres shorter than Flanders, so it will be interesting to see whether the locks will go for 80 minutes, whether Flanders will shift to the 2nd row or Gimblett. I expected either Flanders or Parsons - or both - to get a rest this weekend.
I can't remember the last time that the HBRU posted team line-ups of rep teams, so I don't expect them to post one of the development team today either, unfortunately. The HBT isn't any better.

Same loose forwards that played against Counties. However in that match MMT was 8 and Flanders was 6. I prefer the positions they are in this week
I prefer them the Counties way.
The other issue aside from no lock cover is we have no reserve 10. Hopefully that fatso at XV isn't the designated reserve 10.

I am not in the slightest bit worried about the first five situation should McClutchie be subjected to any foul player from the 'Poo designed to incapacitate him. At a real pinch even Joel Hintz could fill in and the win will still be achieved. Surely there cannot be any more than the three out of four upset results since Wednesday night?
Incidentally I was at the Westpac Stadium when Northand rolled the home side not long after it opened on a lovely fine sunny Sunday(?) afternoon, sadly was not at Jerry Collins Stadium to see them repeat the dose today. -

@FakatavaAllBlack I think the Bay are clearly pissed off with what happened in Dunedin, and rightly so. This team running out this afternoon is a Super Rugby Team in Black and White jerseys. However that doesn't mean that Manawatu will lie down. They Won't. You have to make them. The way to do it given the week Manawatus had is to start real quick, get a good early lead, and knock there confidence down even more. This to me could be a season defining game for the Bay. And what I mean is with tough challenges coming for the Shield we need a complete performance from the top line up. No flat patches, high intensity, and basics done well time and time again. There's been two upsets already this weekend and that should alone stir this Bay team up.

@Billsy111 And no pointless up and under box kicks.
Any sign what the weather and track conditions down there are today? It is Palm Nth afterall so it cannot possibly be brilliantly fine and sunny sitting on just over 21 degrees like it is here in Napier today! -
All this weekends curtainraisers have finished and only a little over half an hour to go before the main match for this round commences.
Yet another game where there was an unexpected loss for one of the Super Rugby host teams so there cannot possibly be another team where the hotshots get tipped over. Surely not, especially when the Kel Tremain Memorial Trophy is being defended? I mean it is the 'Poo we are talking about.................................... -
So close...cmon central vikings teams

Manawatu have started very well!
Hope they can keep it up
