Barbarians U21 v Highlanders U20

That Broughton at eight for the babaas is a heck of a player. He reminds me a fair bit of Elliot Dixon.
-
@SouthernMann Broughton, Fabish and Nonu are the three best players on the field.
-
@Stargazer I watch an interview with Tom Donnelly the other day who said the Highlanders made the decision to keep the squad in club rugby. So seems their prep time hasn't been as good as other teams. A lot of individual talent in there. Just not combining well at the moment.
-
@SouthernMann The Barbarians players haven't had much time together either. They come from all over the country.
-
@Stargazer yeah understand the concept of the babaas team... I'm quite disappointed with how the Highlanders have played so far, especially with the talent in the backline. Really want to see Faleafaga, Asi and Hurley have a go.
-
How has Gavigan gone at prop @Stargazer? He’s another one on the Canes radar.
-
@Canes4life Not really catching the eye. The Barbarians' strength clearly in the backrow, not the frontrow.
-
Full time: Barbarians U21 43 - 24 Highlanders U20
Deserved win to the Baabaas, with several players standing out, but Hato Pāora College product & of Plenty player Nikora Broughton the clear Man of the Match.
Am a bit disappointed with the Highlanders U20s' performance. They have some names in their squad but they didn't perform well.

I've just watched a recording of this game. It is a good idea to make the Barbarians U21 as they are a much stronger team with players who have another year of development under their belts. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win at least one of their remaining games.
Agree about Gualter's try. Keeping the Baabaas spirit alive.
