Hopefully a few more players like Retallick, Ioane and Weber are back on deck this weekend or next, maybe even Stevenson. McMillan really needs to decide on his best back three from here on, and must realise that Gatland and Trask can't start together.

The Chiefs have played the 3 best Aust teams to date so as long as they win their remaining 3 games should secure 4th position and a home QF. That said, their away record is much better than their home record this season.

It looks increasingly likely that Kiwi teams are going to end up occupying positions 1-2 & 4-6, this assuming Reds/Brumbies lose to both the Crusaders & Blues in their remaining fixtures.

    Big assumption

Yeah a lot of water under the Bridge before that happens.
Crusaders have to beat the Brumbies in Canberra so do the Blues.
Canes have to beat the Warratahs in Sydney all tough games.

This has been a real improvement this year for the comp, many more of the games are up for grabs.

The Brumbies are not going to be a walkover for any team in the comp, especially at home. Tahs have improved massively this year. A lot more entertaining

Yep great for the Comp it needed the shot in the arm,Interesting comp this season.

Next year when we can mix up the games against Oz instead of having them all in a block will be an improvement as well.

Moving to top 6 would improve thinks as well. A top 8 from 12 is stupid.

    Yep agreed

Three very good tries plus Hunt’s height getting exposed and LF showing lack of pace when turned around

Not having Covid disrupt the comp would the biggest improvement, next year.

Cancellation of games and franchises having to swap players or call in their U19s has had a major impact this year. It certainly has made comp "interesting", but not better.

When the competition has finished it will be interesting to see how many players each franchise has had to use this season.

I would guess the Hurricanes and Crusaders?

Our current worst franchise beat the Ponies in Canberra 33-12 10 months ago, take that how want.

Different beasts this season. The teams look a Lot different than last year as do the results.
Brumbies at home look a lot tougher proposition than last year.

@Chris interestingly, the Brumbies have a weaker squad than last season.

Getting better results though through playing better. That maybe an overall reflection of the strengths of the squads as well.

@Chris Brumbies have a pretty favourable draw too, Highlanders was in Melbourne, Chiefs and MP away, rest at home.

Brumbies play 4 games at home against the NZ teams. Seems a bit lopsided doesn't it?

Yeah they’ve probably got the best draw in the comp but then again they beat the Chiefs away so not sure if it matters for them too much. They just seem to be a bloody well coached side.

Limitd, but effective. Strong where they need to be - Scrums and Mauls. Fair play, if you find a comparative advantage, exploit away.

And the Force won't have to travel as they play the Chiefs away before. MP have to return from Brisbane.

MP have had such a shit deal this year, so hard for them to really show what they are capable of or even show much improvement with the hand they've been dealt, and will likely affect thier ability to attact any marquee signing.

Mauger should play his best team against the Force and weaker teams either side.

The Waratahs’ top four hopes have received a boost, with Wallaby Ned Hanigan returning from Japan to bolster their finals charge.

It is understood Hanigan, as well as former Wallaby Paddy Ryan, arrived at Daceyville on Monday after finishing their seasons in Japan.
