NRL 2022

As a warriors supporter since day 1 I've seen some horrible shit
But today take the cake. Marquee game, Anzac day, and they turn in that effort? Fucking disgraceful
They flat out quit today. We were shit, and thrn we quit.
The roster is packed with absolute spuds. Brown is a shit coach. We're going nowhere. Bring them home and write off the year.
They embarrassed themselves today

The thing is Brown was a shit coach at Newcastle for years.
Why did the Warriors think he would suddenly turn into a good coach?

The Walker brothers were dead keen to take up the reins.
They are untested, but done very well at QLD Cup level. I fail to see how they could be any worse than Brown.
It's like George almost panicked and went for safe picks.
As far as I can see they are still waiting for a chance. FFS we need to take a chance and do something different if we are to have any chance of getting back to something resembling the glory days

comical how that happened, but hope DWZ is ok, looked like went out cold
Stopped watching after that hit. Even though the score was still respectable at that stage I had a feeling it was about to get ugly.
Glad I didn’t watch the massacre.

They were my preferred pick back when Brown got selected. I love the Warriors, but for a club who are prone to doing the same old thing and expecting the same old results, I thought that selecting an untried product like the Walker brothers gave us a chance to do something different and hopefully get a different result.
As M4L noted, Brown was a woeful coach before joining the Warriors - how did we expect he was going to be anything different here?
Pretty grim watching last night. Hard to remember a worse half of footy since some of those massacres the Kiwis used to take against that star-studded Kangaroo team in the early 2000s

Same old Warriors. "Career best numbers" in the the preseason soon enough translated to being the same old bunch of unfit quitters... Warriors' Nathan Brown has no doubt some players gave up in record loss to Storm

well no shit Nathan. We watched
Walsh and the much maligned Egan put in all game, Lodge had a dig as always (but i agree with the sometimes right Cooper Cronk that he waited 20 minutes too long to try and change the momentum). Basically everyone else packed it in. I expect it of peahearts like SJ, but some of the young guys not so much.
We are devoid of talent in the wings and centres, so the least you expect is fucking effort.
Walsh will be gone in the offseason for sure. Leaving us with zero attacking threats (not that Walsh exactly gives other teams kittens).
This comp is so unbalanced it's not even funny. It's Penrith and Melbourne, then a bunch of teams playing to lose to them in a prelim, and then like 1/3rd of the comp just straight up sucks.

I think when they saw Curran and then DWZ leave with serious injuries, most gave up. I say the rest, as some players didnt even turn up in the first half, but we were able to cover for them until then. Every time they looked like passing to Kosi even on attack, I was thinking try..at the other end. He is terrible.
It was an absolute shit show, even our kick offs were terrible again, so didnt even get to have a set to complete as we were always getting penalised on half way.
Just have to bin it and start again.. terrible to watch, too many players you could name as not doing enough, just shit all round
-
some of the game stats are hilarious
The Storm completed 11 more sets (37) than we had sets in total (26)
Run metres 2077 to 773
11 line breaks to 2 (we made linebreaks?)
203 tackles to our 392
we missed 41 tackles!!! -
Another abject performance by the Warriors. Because the Raiders are similarly poor we only trail by 8 at the half. But our right side D has been like a revolving door, and we've only scored after profiting from Raiders errors . The rest of the time we have been penned in our half. Nathan Brown is just another aussie retread who can't get consistent tune out of our boys

Warriors storm back only for the usual errors to let them down. 9 minutes to go but it seems like too little too late. Warriors trail 18-20
Thought the call on SJ non try was harsh. The idiot defender stood with his hand up appealing to the ref, then decided to move across to make the tackle. He would have easily covered the space if he didn't do the hand up appeal.
Also, lucky that Asi just turned up midweek.

I've seen them given but that was a weak call. The affected Raiders player got bumped but then went back into the line by the time SJ arrived

Lodge takes a high shot and Blocker reckons it was nothing. Not the worst I've seen but there looked to be contact. Walsh ties it up with 30 seconds to go. Golden point here we come
Rugby has probably gone too far with high shots, the leaguies are the opposite, unless you put the guy in hospital it doesn't count as high.
Edit: Now the commentators are doubling down saying there's no contact to the head over clips of contact to the head.
