@stargazer anyone that says you don't get physicality in womens rugby needs to watch this game.

Two big handoffs to cheer. Something you hardly ever see in the mens game these days.

@crucial Yep, saw the same in both Manawa v Matatū games. It also shows how important it is to have this competition. Much needed prep for the BFs. Too bad it's so short.

    Good, entertaining first half.

    They have this game
    On at the pub.

The scrambling defence of the chiefs with only 14 and then 13 girls is incredible.

Not hating this rugby at all

The Poua have been struggling this 2nd half. At some point playing against 13 Manawa players, but conceding a try and not scoring any points themselves. I think we're mainly seeing the difference in match fitness here. Plenty of quality in that Poua team.

Tubic having a blinder, by the way. Should be able to get into the RWC squad.

I find it like a cross between the speed of the modern game and the player differences of old (game for all sizes)
While the mens game has become more homogeneous with players this is great entertainment watching trucks take on motorcycles.

@crucial I assume part of that is due to the smaller women's player pool?

    Edit: and lack of professionalism?

That try from Anderson was way too easy. Poua looking tired.

FT: Chiefs Manawa 29 - 8 Hurricanes Poua

Great first half; weaker second half, esp from the Poua. It's unfortunate that the Poua have only one more game left.

Chiefs Manwa having the title already in the bag?

No. I just think they embrace the old ways of the game because of its inclusiveness of body difference.

I did not like the refereeing in this game. Cogger-Orr seemed to always favour the defensive team, and often never let the attacking player to even place the ball.

The Poua played much better than the final score indicated, particularly with no warmup game. A dominant Chiefs Manawa scrum (even with 7 players) and tenacious defence was the difference.
