Waratahs v Chiefs

Missed it. What happened?

Folau offloads but a faint hand from Chiefs centre propels the ball forward. Ref calls a Blue knock on. After they replay the "gross injustice" on the big screen and the crowd is suitably outraged, Peyper decides to change his decision.

Tahs score from ensuing scrum. -

now the stadium TV director has all the power. I don't lament the decision per se, as it was the correct one, but it sets a dangerous precedent.

I think the precedent was actually set back at RWC2015 when Fiji were denied against England. And in South Africa several times since.

Shame I can't see the game. Sounds alright.

Yeah. Dirty bastards. They should stick to niggle, and gamesmanship... or something :)
-

Nothing much, the right call was made. Move on

Can't say I agree, the right call might have been made, but...
The refs get calls wrong during a game, it happens. Is the TMO going to start over ruling/the ref start changing all their calls, or just the bad ones that are played over and over on the stadium big screen? -

Who plays fullback for the Tahs now that Folau is at centre?
Or does he just play both positions?
Dont recall a fullback taking any high balls, Folau always seems to be there though...

Chiefs take the lead back

He seems to defend at fullback but attack at centre. That isn't that much different than what other fullbacks do, tbh.
-

Most FBs join the line either side of the centre.

Plus he's that fucking good at the high ball, its the logical choice.
-

Yeah, I was skeptical of it at first but I actually think it has been a genius move. When we put Ben Smith at centre it was shit because we lost his counter attacking and he didn't know how to defend properly.
-

I cant think of too many centres that defend at FB, you'll have to help me out sorry..??? -

Centre would be fucking shit to defend at. Just imagine - you've got Folau on your inside shoulder to look after, and potentially three other targets. Fuck. That.
-

I was saying, most fullbacks defend at fullback but when their team have the ball they enter the backline around the centre position. The 'tahs have just taken it a bit further by putting 13 on his back. I wasn't saying that most centres defend at fullback.
-

Chiefs getting run off the park atm.
