Aaron fucking Donald is a beast
that tackle to stop the run a yard short, and then a sack to end the game
-
good tough defensive Superbowl. Defensive fronts for each team were fucking huge.
And then Kupp comes good when needed.
Great season Bengals, worst team in the league 2 years ago, and damn near won a SB.

I'm really happy for Von Miller getting a 2nd ring, and playing his part today too

cracking game, really enjoyed that. Fitting that it was the Rams D and particularly Donald who came up trumps at the end.
Two absolutely key moments down teh stretch - Bengals 85 dropping the ball just short of a first down, and then the refs deciding to suddenly throw a flag on a fairly minor play for Kupp that kept the Rams drive alive.
All said and done though, good fun, stoked for Donald, Stafford, Miller and the Rams overall. Their owners are suck (fun fact: the Bengals owners are the family the Browns are named after), but that's pretty standard in the league.
Frankly, the NFL entertainment has been top notch this year. It's awesome fun, a proper apex sport. Ridiculous money -- helicopters following the team busses to the stadium.
Roll on 22/23. Field will be wide open again

Good game, though a little bit below the standard of the playoffs so far. It's been an amazing playoff season to be fair.
Bengals needed to let Burrow cook and did a pretty good job of it, but what were they thinking rushing Perine on 3rd down at the end? Made about a yard, burned a timeout and put them up against 4th down. Madness.
It took the Rams about two hours to work out they couldn't run the ball, but once they did they got the job done. In a way it's the story of them all season, doing just enough to get the job done with the feeling they could play heaps better if it all clicked.
Happy for Matt Stafford, happy for Aaron Donald, Kupp and Whitworth. A pretty deserving set of winners in the end.

i just saw the end-on vision of the throw Stafford made to Kupp for the longest play of the game winning drive. It was pretty fucking sexy. Very small window and he hits him in-stride

both QB threw some absolute bullets

@mariner4life Each to their own, I guess.
Congratulations to the Rams.

I'm only a part time watcher, but one of things that stood out today was the Rams not punting on a 4th down and keeping the drive alive that they eventually scored off. I get that field position is paramount, and you don't want to give the opposition a crack in good territory, but it feels like teams should back themselves a little more when they're 4th and fuck-all
Shit take?

Well, after a fair bit of hype, I instead had a sunday roast with a couple of glasses of wine around 5pm so by the time 11:30pm kick off came I was pretty knackered. Watched the first half and then the Half Time show (I must have watched something very different to all those saying best one ever) and then woke up at 5am on the couch.
Found myself cheering for the Bengals honestly, no idea why. I guess the Rams feel a bit hollow to me as a team.
Anyway, watched the highlights this morning, looks like if I stayed awake 30 more seconds I would have seen the Bengals best part of the game. Decent enough game but nowhere near the levels of 3 weeks ago.

Great final, great season.
Best in donkey's years.

Nah you're on the money. The analytics guys have been saying NFL teams are generally too conservative when it comes to going for it, although that's starting to change now.

How bout dem Rams! Was an enthralling game to watch.
After OBJ went down they looked a bit flat and the Bengals lifted.
Desperation by the Bengals in the last Rams drive and the pressure finally cracked them for the go ahead TD. Massive defence to end the game.
Great season.

so, saw an interesting question
Does Joe Burrow ever get back to the Superbowl?
At first i laughed, and then
Superbowls are ridiculously hard to make, let alone win. You take Brady away (who has warped everyone's expectations around talented players and success) and the list of great QBs who have played in 2 SB's starts to drop away alarmingly
Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are two of the greatest of all time, they have played in a combined 2 SBs.
The odds are, that was Burrow's shot. At least at the Bengals.

Hall of Famer Dan Marino never got back

Probably.
You need a fair bit of luck to get there. Even Brady last year needed that - the Green Bay game was really touch and go.
But yeah, take Brady out and it's on. that said, with the talent comign through, some will get a couple of cracks.
