I don't actually think he played a game for us anyway?

Not many (if any). He played 3 games plus he also played the Brisbane Tens.

i actually kind of rate digby...and you still won the comp in 2017!

Yeah, in his prime. I don't actually think he played a game for us anyway? Luckily by 2017 we had Timanivalu and Mataele join and we already had Bridge. It must have been in 2015/16 under Blackadder when we had some truly awful backline combos trotted out including Fonotia, Tuitivake and I think Rob Thompson used on the wings at times when Nadolo-ball wasn't an option while Toddy also used to like to play as many 10s as possible which meant Tom Taylor - a useful fullback at provincial level - often playing 15 as well. Shudder.

I just had a shit flashback reading your post.I felt those frustrating Blackadder day's again.

Some of his backline selections were simply inept, and you'll recall we never seemed to have any creativity or punch in the midfield and just swung it back and forth from wing to wing, hoping Nadolo or Reado would create something. Fuck it was hard to watch. Just no imagination. Remember when we managed to lose to the Sharks at home despite them receiving an early red card and then also a yellow? I find it hard to believe now that we came so very close to winning a title in 2014.

I remember all of that,The most frustrating period of watching rugby I can think off,
That going from sideline to sideline until we lost the ball or got penalised was terrible to watch, You always knew what the outcome would be.
Razor has been such a breath of fresh air.

@chris I've told this story before, but one day during that period I was at the supermarket and Hamish Riach was there. I walked past him and said " Hey Hamish, the outside back aisle is over there"

Toddy can reflect on his lack of titles and blame only himself. It was blindingly obvious that we needed more firepower in the midfield and outside backs and with the exception of Nadolo, year-after-year Toddy served up the mediocre. One year - when squads were smaller than they are now - he had Dan, Slade, Taylor and Bleyendaal - as well as three halfbacks. Nearly half of his backs division covering two positions - and a lot of mediocrity outside them. A few who went on to better things, but in 2014 weren't much chop.

It was painful to watch,Thankfully those day's are gone.I always lived in hope we would sign a couple of game breaking backs but apart from Nadolo nothing.

Highlanders lead 17-10 at half time. Liam Coltman scored from a rolling maul, and the Crusaders scored from halfway - no mention of who scored.

In TV3 news they played a bit of footage of the match.

So they evidently had a camera there.

In this day and age - how hard is it to stream these games?

Not very - and pretty poor that no-one bothers to.

The Chiefs-Moana Pacifica game is on Sky right now, but I wouldn't have known except by accident.

    Maybe this one was...

And those brief highlights were a waste of time, not even showing any tries.
