For those of you seeking to come here or otherwise escape for a bit and return, remember to factory reset your mobile phones, tablets and laptops before going through customs.
Why’s that?
Because Border Force can take your phone, tablet, etc. and compel you to give up your password to access it.
They always could couldn’t they? Fair enough, I didn’t have anything private enough on my phone to go through the trouble of a factory reset

All 4 members of the Mariner family currently have covid
Eldest boy brought it in to the house by having a social life
Dad went down 2nd
Youngest boy 3rd
Wife lastEldest still has a cough, but never got more than a decent cold. Is already back to being a pain in the ass
Youngest was tired and had a temp for one afternoon. And that's it
I have had what I would consider a pretty decent headcold that is slightly dragging (3 days now)
Wife about the same.Get jabbed and this is the colds you've avoided the last couple of years rolled in to one.
Biggest issue is being trapped in a house together. Day 6 and we are fraying a little. Kids of a certain age make this a bit harder. Still 6 days to go for 1 of us...

@mariner4life i keep thinking to say congrats on your new antibodies but not sure that's appropriate.
Happy to hear you guys will be fine. -
@mariner4life glad to hear things haven’t got “too” bad, get well

yeah that is gonna be the kicker when it hits our household, which is looking likely sooner rather than later with several of TR Jnrs workmates stood down for attending the Soundsplash, one of his mates attended, tested negative on Wednesday, although I think this has a longer incubation, so likely only showing now? He is going to said mates tonight for a party, so if he gonna get it, tonight is it, although I'd have thought his dad would be overly cautious being a surgeon...
Am eligible for booster, was gonna hold off, but with about to run wild, probably might get it this week.

I see their crowd funding hasn't gone well - GoFundMe had the temerity to ask for details on disbursement. The organiser is a prepper from WA.
Not much of a prepper. I mean, getting out in public and potentially getting doxxed isn't doing much for your chances.

There'll be a grab-bag of grievances in that crowd.

So far various news outlets and whacko feeds* report:
- Antivax
- Anti-lockdown
- Antivax with added "Save The Children"
- Conspiracy theorists
- Sovereign Citizens
- Paedo Hunters
- Militants
- Wife beater(s) - I only know of Avi Yemini but there could be more
- Reignite Democracy Australia
- Several people I can only assume are drug dealers and/or heavy users
No Nazis like in Canada tho. So that's something.

Youi know the other funny thing about Covid reporting focusing on cases over hospitalisations, ICU needs and actual deaths, is that we neve see reporting on "Active Cases" - you know, that figure that incorporates people actually recovering.
Have a look at NSW over the past fortnight:
-
@voodoo of course you fucking don't
The media needs the sensationalist headlines for revenue. Seriously, active cases actually decreasing by 14,000 people a day is not going to sell ads
And then you have the social media bedwetters who see this as the moral crisis of our times, and those who aren't fully committed to staying home care about money over lives, just like the "right wing" governments. Seriously, those commenting on various platforms about how the Government are not doing enough to protect "vulnerable" people don't want this news as it takes away their platform to show just how much more than you they care about others.
