Scarcely believable what's going on in Canada right now.
Lockdown totalitarianism, Bill C10 to censor YouTube creators, locking a pastor in maximum confinement for exceeding 15% capacity of church goers for 35 days awaiting a trial with charges that don't enforce a jail term.
According to one correspondent the government either owns or subsidies 99% of the media so the push is to regulate individual content as though it were legacy media.
It seems the Canadians are too Canadian (polite and considerate) to kick up much of a fuss, but one gets the feeling that patience is wearing thin.
Really really strange and ominous carry on in a democracy with a reputation of being very functional.

Their version of Brian Tamaki's mates.

Given the size of the crowd I'm sure there were all sorts of people there, but the messages I've seen from them hasn't been anti vaccine, but anti mandate. Those two things are not even close to the same thing - I'm vaccinated and pretty strongly against the idea of mandates, and I can assure you I have nothing in common with someone like Tamaki.

Aah.... a neutral take by Stuff

@frank and Reuters who have absolutely zero links to any pharma or world economic institutions...đ.
All those trucks. All those freight companies foregoing business because they deem the protest cause worthy. But no, let's pretend people are "dancing" (in sub zero temps) on a memorial as the main takeaway from this story of "a minority fringe". Oh, and let's write "violence" too.

Couple of thunks ...

Anyone who doesn't get vaxxed is an idiot
-
Being against vaccine mandate does not make you anti vax
-
Am astonished that there are people that think being anti mandate makes you anti vax
-
Am astonished that there are people that think being anti mandate makes you fascist
-
Am sad that there are lefties that think that the opinions of "the proletariat" are fascist

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) (aka Justin Trudeauâs campaign team) despises disinformation and misinformation and wants to police all content on the internet.

@kid-chocolate must be true. Why would she lie?

Ottawa mayor and police, and RCMP (Mounties) in Alberta, have been refused service by every tow-truck company to haul away the big rigs.

Leader of the opposition Conservative Party was made to walk the plank this morning by his own MPs, and the vote wasnât even close. Three days ago the idea was dismissed as unrealistic. Thatâs how fast things are moving right how. Trudeau is still in hiding. This afternoon a huge circle of people was dancing on Parliament Hill to âWe Are the World.â Is Prime Minister Blackface prepared to call in the military?

The residents maybe not so much.

Too moderate. Not a fighter. If heâd resisted Trudeauâs overreach, there wouldnât have been a massive convoy driving 3,000 miles to choke the nationâs capital. I think the rally crystallized his failure, but really the straw that broke camelâs back. PM and CBC/media want to portray the truckers as Insurrection North, but public isnât buying it, and Oâtoole too much of a wuss to push back and defend them. National opinion has swung 15% against mandates since truckers invaded Ottawa.
