Only 3 players have scored tons in each innings at Sydney: Doug Walters, Ricky Ponting, Usman Khawaja

New Zealand’s own Peter Fulton did it too. Those were his only hundreds in 23 test matches.

Graham Gooch of course got 333 then 123 in the same match which is an aggregate that no one has beaten.

It’s a pretty damn impressive thing to do,

Here’s the complete list, Ponting did it THREE times !!!

    https://stats.espncricinfo.com/c/content/records/282951.html

    "at Sydney"?

Venue is irrelevant to the point I’m trying to make.

I see Warner did it three times too ! Tendulkar never managed it, Fuck you Bloody !

So the point you were trying to make was irrelevant to the point @NTA was trying to make?

Didn't think we would make stumps there, with the rain coming.

    Rangas don't think like us.

Who cares where it was done ? It’s still a terrific effort, I won’t even bother talking up Warner and Ponting if you’re gonna ruin my posts with all your rules and logic.

Looks like it yeah, but given this is the 87th time it’s happened anywhere EVER, it’s still worth a mention.

Both Chappell brothers did it in the same test vs us. That probably won't happen again in my lifetime.

Dayle Hadlee did it in the same test as well.

Radar this morning - about 4 smallish bands of rain moving ESE toward the coast.

    http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR713.loop.shtml#skip

If they stay on that course then the worst of it will probably miss the stadium. Never know with these fussy umpires tho, and taking cues from Smith running off to protect his gloves on Day 1...

Yesterday it was predicted to rain all day tho at Moore Park so you never know.

I don't think we've left ourselves enough time to get England. Really, yesterday should have literally been getting Khawaja to 100, not wasting time afterward trying to get Green a ton as well. Why even send out Carey? He wasn't about to get decent minutes with a clear intent to smash it.

Sure it was only 2 overs, but a respectable 60ish not out was enough for Green to drag up his series average. Got the ton. Had a lead of well over 300 at that point.

This thread might get a bit quiet. The real action is happening across the ditch. Come and visit and give your thoughts if need be.

    Carey makes up for it.

Hameed needs to take a leaf of Crawley's book. Not positive enough.

Doubled the best opening partnership of England previous this series. Which isn't saying much.

Hameed nearly got to double figures so that’s an improvement.

He’s a cricketer, not an offensive lineman or pro wrestler…..but he has to be about the least physically imposing international I’ve ever seen. Looks like an absolute runt and appears to have no confidence at all.

Pump some iron son, try and be a bit more Matthew Hayden or Chris Gayle.

Lyon gets Malan with a quicker ball that doesn't spin.

    Very Smith-like dismissal
