Come on Wood.
I quite like Wood (jokes aside). Gives 100 percent and bowls with a bit of threat. Should have played in the last test.
Has the pace. Just needs support from the other end.
Yeah - England selectors living in the past backing Anderson and Broad in the last test.
They've opened the bowling with Anderson and Robinson. Harris may escape this onslaught!

Oz probably got things wrong at the toss - this pitch hasn't done much at all - but, maybe they think it will do even less over the next few days - which is likely.
Maybe Cummins couldn't be arsed thinking about declarations and follow-ons.
It's not going to matter, but it looks like a win toss and bat pitch.
England possibly should have opened with Root and Malan.
You are in deep shit vs Oz if you don't have decent openers. Just prior to lunch Root and Malan had almost retrieved things from disaster, but they're well up the Khyber now, without a paddle.
It doesn’t matter whatever happens. This Australian team is better than people make out and the English team is even worse. Just far too many ordinary, bog standard test players in there.
Root can’t do it all.

Must say, Wood is bowling fucking well with no luck.
You just want Harris to fail so you can whinge about him
It's a short walk.

Well depends, Root aside the top order averages late 20’s early 30s which isn’t terrible is it ?

Bracey: 2.66Stolen from Wisden, I assume this is all the specialist batsmen who’ve debuted in this period ? Christ England would kill for debutants of the calibre of Nicholls, Blundell, Conway, Young ( ok, jury still out on him and Blundell maybe ) wouldn’t they ?
Fuck that’s a lot of players who have been tried and found wanting…..
