and look who is suddenly top of their division? The Chiefs are not the team of the past 2 years, but sleep on them at your peril.
-
Daniel Jones just keeps looking up to see Red jerseys pouring through at him, and no one open to throw to

This season really shows how parity rules in the NFL this season especially.
The best record in the NFL is with a team currently with a journeyman backup.
It will be interesting this season with only one team getting a playoff bye per conference whether that bye is of significance. Based on the season so far it feels like there could be some wildcard teams making some noise as not much seems to be separating the teams.
As boring as it sounds at this stage you'd have to back the teams that have QBs that have been there and done that in the playoffs (Brady, Mahomes).
-
@kiwimurph i won't back against Brady until an hour after the final whistle

The Titans have 8 wins in their last 10. The two losses are to the Texans and the Jets.
This season is just all over the place for everyone.

Colts v Bucs was a bloody good game. Tied up with 2.5 minutes to go you just knew Brady was going to set the win up perfectly. And then the Colts go within a whisker of running back the kick-off.
Broncos put a dent in the post-season hopes of the Chargers
Green Bay show they might just be the top dog in the NFC
The Patriots are getting better every frikken week. -
Vikings - 49ers was very good. It had everything - TDs, intercepts, fumble recoveries, injuries, kickoff return for a TD. Two very even teams but a huge win for the 49ers as they now hold both a one game lead on the Vikings plus the tiebreaker (now that they beat them). More good news for the 49ers that Panthers, Eales and Rams all lost.

Browns are in a tough spot.
Baker Mayfield their QB is coming to the end of his 4th year of his 5 year rookie contract. Typically this coming offseason is when contract extensions would be done.
If they give him a new contract it's going to take up a huge portion of their salary cap.
He's not a bad player and he is the best QB they have had in 30 years but he's also not worth a huge deal - he is surrounded by a very talented team and there's not really one thing he does at an elite level - he doesn't have an elite arm, he's not big, he's not fast, he's not so accurate that you would call it elite. Through 10 games he's thrown 10 TDs this season.
The moneyball approach would be to not pay him and spend that salary cap elsewhere.
They can keep him one more year but if they don't sign him this offseason it feels like a lame duck year or you get into a Kirk Cousins / Washington situation (franchise tag/expensive year by year deals).
-
@kiwimurph if they pay him big they are doomed.
Tough spot is there isn't anything in the draft apparently. Should be a few free agents around?
-
@mariner4life Yes I would think your Broncos would be a great example of how a relatively chief free agent QB can be great value.
There should be a few veteran QBs around (Jimmy G etc).
-
If the season finished today, here's the first 10 picks:
- Lions
- Texans
- Jaguars
- Jets (via Seahawks)
- Jets
- Giants
- Giants (via Bears)
- Eagles
- Eagles (via Dolphins)
- Panthers
I'm sure the Seahawks never dreamed that the price for Jamal Adams would include a top 5 pick, earlier than the Jets. The Seahawks have a crazy soft schedule from here so they probably won't finish below the Jets though they are looking very rough.
Highly touted QBs in the draft so any one of the three teams with double picks (and Eagles are looking likely to get the third with Wentz playing so many snaps for the Colts) could look to grab a veteran QB. None of them will be desperate though unless their current starters really go off the rails, but if Wilson or Rodgers is available...

I've been watching Jones develop. Turns out I quite like Belichek - he's a dirty, cheating, taciturn, incredibly effective coach. The demeanour of Grizz Wylie, the analytical mindset of Wayne Smith. What amazese me is how he can develop defenses - takes a bunch of no-names, and they just get better and better through the season. Really remarkable.

Jones is the best performed rookie QB on show. While not the best physical specimen in the draft, he is showing lots of other great qualities. I'm watching the Tom Brady doco right now, and you can see how hard Belichek works, the team are responding

Massive weekend for the 49ers try to solidify a wild card spot as they play a Seattle team in poor form. A few weeks back I thought the 9ers season was over. What a weird NFL season this is
that went well
also Teddy Bridgewater fucking sucks.
and the fact he gets to start shows how shit Drew Lock is.
-
The Chiefs missing connections that have been going to hand over the past few years. They just aren't quite there
Which is okay, they are still good. Brady and the Patriots have distorted everyone's view of what a good team is, and how long they can be at the top.

Typical 49ers effort vs Seattle - I think Seattle is 16-4 vs the 49ers in their last 20 contests over the last decade.
The NFC only has 5 teams with a winning record - Vikings lost to the Lions so the last 2 spots in the wildcard are gonna be wide open.

Patriots with one pass play in the entire half
